Stitch Scraps Together For This Fun Patchwork Layout - Alternative July 2025 Paper Pumpkin Idea

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. We have had so much for over the last week or so making beautiful Alternate Card Ideas with the supplies from the July 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Sweeter With You.

The cards in this kit are so fun and bright with strawberry die cuts and fun patterns.  The kit includes everything you need to make 8 cards, 2 in 4 different designs.

For my ninth alternative I using up my scraps and stitching them together to make a fun patchwork design for the card front. If you have a sewing machine, it would be fun to also add real stitched between the colors before adding it to your cardbase. So many fun things you can do with this kit!

If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and make the original cards visit this playlist -  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNnkftKat7y5RtamwxGnoud6

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog – www.creativechelsey.com

I also want to mention the amazing perks you can receive when you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me as your demonstrator. With every Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set & Ink Spot sent, I design a card and mail out my very own card kit to my subscribers so they can make two of my exclusive card design. These cards so fun and show new ways to use stamps & ink. We also meet once each month to make the card together, chat & have fun.

*PLUS I have joined with other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators to design 7-10 more alternative ideas in a PDF Tutorial (includes photos & instructions). My subscribers receive this PDF Tutorial along with an Exclusively Designed Card Kit, all for FREE! If you would also like to receive this extra perk, sign up for paper pumpkin using the link below and make sure to select me as your demonstrator.

Get the Cutting Guide for all my alternatives here - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tkw0xnEZqQ0MfOrVRrz8lxn8lG_DphZL/view?usp=sharing

Thick Basic White Cardstock – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Green Cardbase (kit) – 1 ¼” x 5 ¼”

Strawberry Cardbase (kit) – 3” x 3”

Poppy Parade – 5/8” x 4 ¼” or longer strip & 1” piece to fill gap

Basic White Cardstock – 2” circle & scraps for die cut flowers

Blue Stripe Piece (kit)

1- Make sure to use the Cutting Guide (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tkw0xnEZqQ0MfOrVRrz8lxn8lG_DphZL/view?usp=drive_link) to cut your pattern paper to the right size from the cardbases in the kit.

2- Attach all the pattern pieces together. I placed the green strip on the left, my piece had a score line and I placed it on the right side and used it as a guide for lining up the other pieces.

Then adhered the strawberry pattern on the right bottom area and the blue stripes on the top right area. Fill in the space between the blue stripes & strawberries with 1” of Poppy Parade.

3- Cut everything down to 4” x 5 ¼”. Then adhere to the center of the cardbase

4- For the ribbon technique: Take the 5/8” Poppy Parade Strip and cut two ¾” from the strip for the end pieces. Cut a flag (fishtail) shape from each piece.

5- Add the flag pieces behind the leftover strip of Poppy Parade with dimensionals one on each end. My leftover piece is about 2 ¾”, but you could do one that is longer if you want. Add this over the Poppy Parade gap on the card with dimensionals in the center and glue on the ends.

6- Stamp your greeting in Garden Green ink in the center of a 2” Basic White Circle. Add over the Poppy Parade Ribbon with dimensionals at the top & bottom.

7- Cut out 5 White Flower Die Cuts from the Circle of Season Dies and add a little yellow to the center. If you want you can curl the petals a little before adding it to the card. Add these around the card.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step.
