February Stamp Club

I am really excited for this month stamp club. Valentines Day is not my favorite holiday, but I really like this new stamp set. Stampin' UP! is offering it in a bundle in Feb. for 20% off the stamp set, heart punch, & paper. Check out my website for more information. I tried to come up with a layout that was simple yet still really cute and used a new technique for my club, because many of my friend have been customers for years and I feel like I have to impress them. So this month I am showcasing punches and the fun things you can do with them. The flower on the left I can't take credit for because it was designed by my upline Kasia. Each petal is made with the tag punch then folded to look like a petal. So cute! I also have noticed that it takes my SL club forever to put together a layout so I am keeping it simple this month since we are meeting on a "school night" and can't stay out late.
This card showcases a new stamp from the "Sale-a-bration" catalog which starts on Feb. 1 (see website for more information). I really like how this card has a country feeling with fresh fun colors, ready for spring. I actually made this card for a fellow co-worker/friend who has been so generous to Kevin and I. The flower is cut from my cricut (shhh...) but everything else is Stampin' Up!

Not Perfect!

Unfortunately I did not take a photograph last week. I can't blame being busy or anything like that, I just forgot.

January Stamp Club

Recently I have signed up to be a Stampin' UP! demonstrator and I LOVE IT! I love it for 3 main reasons.
1- of course being I get to be creative
2- I now am using my Stampin' UP! products
3- I get to hang out with really cool people every month during Stamp Club

Here are my projects we did during January's Stamp Club.

I really love this bright fun thank you card. It is unique in that it opens from the center. It is really easy to put together and make. I just took a 8.5x11 paper and cut it in the middle so you have 2 8.5x5.5 sheets. Take one sheet and score each side 2.25" from the edge. Fold and decorate.

I found my inspiration for this scrapbook page from an example in a Stampin' Success a magazine I get every month from Stampin' UP! full of ideas. They are 12x12 pages with 3.5" squares. Add any accessories you want. One thing I really like about this page is the space where you can personalize it, with lists of your favorite things (see close ups).

By the way I am starting a up a NEW Stamp Club up here by me and I would love for you to join. It is about half full and we would begin in February and go until November. We meet once a month and make fabulous a scrapbook layout like this one and a card for free, your only requirement is to purchase at least $15.00 worth of Stampin' UP! products. They have a wide range of quality crafting supplies and home decor items. Take a look by clicking on my Stampin' UP! webpage a link is located on the left. If you interested let me know!

Family Game Night

Today we had Kevin's immediate family and Kevin's Uncles family to dinner. Amazingly we fit 16 people around one table (made from 4 tables placed together) in our dinning/living room. I made turkey and everyone else brought the sides. It was so fun to have everyone together eating and laughing. After dinner we played Apples to Apples, which is one of our favorites. Because I am a procrastinator and had a pretty busy week, I hadn't taken any photos for this weeks entry, so I pulled out the camera and took some shots of everyone playing. Right as I was about to put the camera away I saw the discard pile behind Kevin and decided it might make an interesting still life. Just as I was pressing the shutter, Kevin reached around and placed more cards on the pile. I think it turned out pretty cool and was my favorite from the bunch. I always find it interesting that my favorite photos are usually either the first or the last photos I take during a "shooting". Let me know what you think.

Park City

So I have begun on my journey of a photo a week. I used to love taking photos, in high school I love photography so much that they started a photo 3 class just for me, and in college I would spend all night in the dark room perfecting my photos. For some reason I have stopped doing what I love and because of this it has become hard to start up again. But luckily my loving husband bought me my very own digital camera and is encouraging me to start again. So don't expect award winning photographs for awhile since I feel like I am retraining my eye to see things through a lens again.

This past weekend we went to Park City for one night with some friends of ours. My grandmothers cabin, where we stayed, has a unique collection of antiques and nicknacks. This photo is one of them. I liked the contrast of the wood paneling, the rope, and the texture of the glaze on the ceramic. I also thought that the lighting added a nice warmth the photo.

My Grandmothers cabin is about 10min walking distance away from main street and so we decided to bundle up and go for a walk. I love Park City for its older homes, unique architecture, and fun shops. On our way home we saw this dog. I have no idea what type of dog it is since I am not an animal lover, but I thought that it was a good image because of the contrasts of textures and shapes.
