Elegant Card Design with Circles an August 2025 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card Idea - Stampin' Up!

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Thanks for joining me today as I share some beautiful card ideas you can make with the August 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Farmhouse Florals. 

The cards in this kit have beautiful floral mixed with farmhouse images like a window pane, basket & typewriter. I love the simplicity of these cards and wanted to carry it into my alternatives as well.  The kit makes a total of 9 cards 3 of three different designs with coordinating envelopes.

This is the second alternative card I will be sharing with you this week. I am using the circle I cut out from my first alternative card and mixing it with a fun stamped pattern and die cuts to create this simple yet elegant handmade card. I hope you love it.

Crumb Cake Cardstock – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Old Olive Cardstock – scrap for die cuts

Petal Pink Cardstock – scrap for die cuts

Fresh Freesia Cardstock – scrap for die cuts

Plain White Cardbase (kit) – 4” x 5-1/4”

Window Die Cut (kit) – Circle from Alternative #1

 

1- Make sure to use the Cutting Guide (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1w8SVMCWiI6t93VmcuvO6yF5Ua8c34ucH/view?usp=sharing) to cut your pattern paper to the right size from the cardbases in the kit.

2- Splatter brown ink over the 4” x 5-1/4” Plain White Cardbase from the kit. I used Pecan Pie Blends. The technique that works the best for me is to hit the marker with my bone folder over the cardstock. It gives a nice fine splatter. Add this to the center of the Crumb Cake Cardbase.

3- Cut from Fresh Freesia Cardstock the Circle Die from the Circle of Season Dies. Stamp the Long Repeating Pattern in Petunia Pop over the whole circle. Add to the card with about ½” from the left and about 1” from the top.  

4- Add the Circle from the Window Scene below and overlapping the bottom slightly the Fresh Freesia Circle and about 1” from the right side.

5- Create a faux double bow with Linen Thread where the two circles meet. I didn’t measure before hand, just created the bow from the spool and then cut it off after the bow was created. See video.

6- Punch a 1-1/4” Circle (I used a retired punch) from some of the leftover scraps when you cut out all the pieces using the Cutting Guide above. Stamp a greeting inside with Secret Sea ink. Add this over the faux bow with dimensionals.

7- Cut out 2 Leaf Dies, I used The Love Of Spring in Old Olive Cardstock. Add them around where the two circle meet and tucked under the greeting.

8- Cut out 3 Petal Pink Flowers with the Flower Die in the Circle of Season Dies. Add a little extra color to the centers with the Light Calypso Coral Blend Marker. Add these around the leaves and greeting.

9- Add 3-5 embellishments if you want. I used the Antique Pearls and placed them inside the flowers.
