FUN FOLD Using Two Tags - November 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Christmas Card - Stampin' Up!

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my second alternative idea using the November 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – From The North Pole.

This kit comes with everything you need to make 12 Christmas Gift Tags, 4 in three different designs. This kit is so festive. I love the different tags colors and shapes, the cute die cuts & stamp images. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative projects. Today I am sharing with you this this fun fold card using the tops of the tags to create a gate type closure. Everyone loves a fun fold card, and I know you will love how easy it is to create using two tags from the kit. I love creating alternative projects with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more as I continue to create with this month’s kit.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

1- Begin by cutting off 1 ¾” from the right side on the front of the cardbase. Trim this smaller piece to 5 ¼”.

2- Stamp on the 2 ¼” x 5 ¼” & 1 ¾” x 5 ¼” Cherry Cobbler pieces a random pattern with the small dot from the stamp set in the kit. I used Cherry Cobbler ink.

3- Stamp a floral image in Early Espresso ink on Basic White Cardstock. Cut out with coordinating die. You can use any floral image, I used one from the Framed Florets Stamp Set. I separated my floral grouping into two sections so it would fit better on the tag. See video for details.

4- Stamp the same image in Early Espresso on the 2 ½” x 5 ¼” Basic White piece in the bottom left corner. Add this to the inside of the cardbase behind the front flap.

5- Cut the first tag to 3”. Place the tag along the top of the paper trimmer with the top of the tag at 3”. Remove about ½” from the bottom. Don't throw away the bottom piece!

6- Cut the second tag at 1 ½”. Place the tag along the top of the paper trimmer with the top of the tag at 1 ½”. Remove about 2” from the bottom. Then slide the top of the tag to 1 ¼” and score. You may want to use a little washi tape to hold the tag in place. See video for details. Don't throw away the bottom piece!

7- Fold the smaller tag along the score line and add adhesive to the back of the ¼” section at the bottom. Adhere the ¼” section to the back of the smaller 1 ¾” Cherry Cobbler piece on the right side about ¾” from the bottom. The top of the tag should fold over the top of the Cherry Cobbler piece creating the right side of the “gate” closure.

8- Adhere the large tag to the top of the large 2 ¼” Cherry Cobbler piece with the straight edges lining up on the left side about ¾” from the bottom. Make sure there is no adhesive on the top of the tag.

9- Adhere half of one snowflake to the bottom left corner of the large 2 ¼” Cherry Cobbler piece. Add adhesive to the bottom half of the snowflake leaving the top open so we can slide something underneath. Trim off the excess.

10- Add the excess to the top right area on the smaller 1 ¾” Cherry Cobbler piece under the tag.

11- Add the Cherry Cobbler pieces to the cardbase. The large on the small front flap and the smaller on the bottom open area, it will overlap the white piece slightly. There will be a small border around the pieces. The tags should meet together.

12- Add the floral images with dimensionals in the center of the large tag. Tucking one behind the snowflake. Add the greeting with dimensionals matching the left side with the edge of the Cherry Cobbler piece. See video.

13- Write your message on the Basic White piece and tie closed with 10” of Twine.

14- Add any embellishments as you wish. I used the Iridescent Rhinestones.

All Done!

1- Stamp your large circle image in Cherry Cobbler inside the large circle die cut from the kit. Stamp the same image in the bottom right corner of the Basic White piece. Add the white piece to the right side on the inside of the card.

2- Layer the ½” Mint Macron strip behind the Cherry Cobbler piece with about 1/8” showing. Repeat for the second set.

3- Adhere one to the front of the cardbase at the bottom. The second is added with tear and tape along the sides and bottom, leave the top open so you can slide in a gift card. Add it to the inside of the card behind the front flap. You may need to remove about 1/16” from the side so it doesn’t come out of the card.

4- Use a drop of Whisper White Craft Ink Refill and mix with a little water. Add some splatters over the front of the cardbase.

5- Add the stamped circle on the Glimmer Tag with dimensionals. Add the FOR YOU with dimensionals on the right side of the circle. Add tag to the center of the cardbase with dimensionals.

6- Tie 10” of twine into a bow through the hole in the top.

All Done!

Lights Aglow Suite - Negative Space Focal Point - November 2022 Artisan Showcase - Stampin' Up!

Today I am excited to share with you my November Artisan Design Team Project. I was asked to use the Lights Aglow Suite of products. This group of products include the Christmas Lights Bundle, Brightest Glow Bundle, Gold & Vanilla Stain-Edged Ribbon, Festive Pearls, Glimmer Specialty Paper, Festive Foils Specialty DSP, and Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper. To purchase any of these products, please visit my online store or use the links below.

I wanted to share a unique look with these products and decided on creative a Negative Space Focal Point. This fun technique creates an opening or hole in the top layer of the card where the focal point is added underneath. I hope you give it a try on your next card.

Here are the dimensions and pieces you will need to create these projects:

Thick Very Vanilla Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Very Vanilla Cardstock – scraps for stamping

Evening Evergreen Cardstock – scraps for stamping

Lights Aglow DSP – (2) 3 ¾” x 5”

Glimmer Paper – (2) 3 7/8” x 5 1/8”

Product List

1- Begin by heat embossing the large tree & snowflake images on Evening Evergreen Cardstock. I like to use an embossing buddy before stamping with VersaMark ink, add gold embossing powder, tap off excess and heat until shiny.

Let cool, then remove the Embossing Buddy with a Microfiber cloth.

2- Do not cut out with coordinating dies, use paper snips and do a rough cut making sure to give a large border around the images.

3- For the Large Snowflake image you can add the inside detail die inside the snowflake if you want. Run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Use the Brush Tip for the Take Your Pick Tool and remove the small pieces.

4- Create the negative space (opening) on the front of the card. Start with two pieces of DSP that is 3 ¾” x 5” – One for the Christmas Tree card and the other for the Snowflake card. Add the Large Christmas Tree & Large Snowflake Dies to the center of the DSP and cut out.

5- Add the stamped images underneath with dimensionals. Start by adding dimensionals on the back of the DSP along the negative space opening.

Then hover the DSP over the stamp image until everything lines up and adhere.

6- Adhere coordinating Glimmer Paper 3 7/8” x 5 1/8” to the back to give a fun border and it will peek through the holes in the snowflake. I use Gold for the snowflake and evening evergreen for the tree. Use dimensionals in the corners and liquid glue on the back of the stamped image.

7- Add everything to your cardbase – I used Thick Very Vanilla for my cardbase.

8- Stamp your greeting on Very Vanilla Cardstock in Evening Evergreen and cut out with coordinating labels from the Labels Aglow Dies. Add Gold & Vanilla Ribbon if you want in a faux bow behind the greeting and add with dimensionals.

9- Add any Festive Pearls. I added them to the snowflake, but you could also add them to the Christmas tree.

All Done!
