August 2025 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card Idea with a Quick & Easy Coloring Technique - Stampin' Up!

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Today I begin sharing beautiful Alternate Card Ideas you can make with supplies from the August 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Farmhouse Florals.

The cards in this kit have beautiful floral mixed with farmhouse images like a window pane, basket & typewriter. I love the simplicity of these cards and wanted to carry it into my alternatives as well.  The kit makes a total of 9 cards 3 of three different designs with coordinating envelopes.

For my first alternative I am combining the window pane printed image with stamped and die cut florals to give a three-dimensional look. I have a fun technique to show you how you can copy the same colors from the printed design into your stamped images. I hope you stick around and see it.

Thick Basic White Cardstock – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Old Olive Cardstock – scrap for die cuts

Pool Party Cardstock – scrap for die cuts

Plain White Cardbase (kit) – 4” x 5-1/4”

Envelope (kit)

1- Make sure to use the Cutting Guide (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1w8SVMCWiI6t93VmcuvO6yF5Ua8c34ucH/view?usp=sharing) to cut your pattern paper to the right size from the cardbases in the kit.

2- Remove the folded edges from one envelope to separate the front from the back. Remove the patterned flap. You will use these pieces to stamp your images on for fussy cutting.

3- Stamp 5 large single flowers in Calypso Coral on the front envelope piece.

Stamp 2 flower branch images using a multicolor technique. First ink the whole image in Poppy Parade and then add a dark brown ink with the Stampin’ Write Markers to the branch and center of flower. Add a little warm breath to reactivate the ink and stamp. Clean the stamp and then repeat to get two. Fussy cut out.

4- Stamp the Teapot in a light brown color, I used Pecan Pie. Fill it in with Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blend Markers using the Light for the whole teapot and then the Dark for shadows. Then use the Color Lifter to add texture by drawing vertical lines from the top to bottom. Repeat until it looks the way you want. Fussy cut out.

5- Using the Circle Die from the Circle of Season Dies remove a section from the Window Scene. I chose an area to the right bottom of the window. Save the circle for Alternative Card #2 tomorrow. Add the Window Scene to the center of the 4” x 5-1/4” Plain White Cardbase from the kit. If you want to distress the edges of the Window Scene you can.

Also cut the same circle from Pool Party Cardstock. Adhere the Pool Party Circle in the opening. Add this to the center of the Basic White Cardbase with dimensionals.

6- Cut out two different shapes of leaves from Old Olive Cardstock. I used the leaf dies from both The Love Of Spring & Hugs Abloom Dies.

7- Add the Red & Brown Flowers to the right of the Pool Party Circle with dimensionals at the top and glue dots at the bottom. Tuck one leaf between them to give interest.

8- Add the Teapot over the printed teapot on the Window Scene with dimensionals. Tuck in the other type of leaves with dimensionals and add the 5 Calypso Coral flowers around the leaves.

9- Punch a 1-1/4” Circle (I used a retired punch) from some of the leftover scraps when you cut out all the pieces using the Cutting Guide above. Stamp a greeting inside with Secret Sea ink. Add this between the two sets of flowers with dimensionals.

10- Add 3-5 embellishments if you want. I used the Antique Pearls.
