Mountain Air Stamp Set | How I created 3 handmade cards, simple, stepped-up, and WOW! | Stampin Up

I have been eyeing this fun new stamp set from Stampin Up since I saw it in the January – June 2020 Mini Catalog. I love how versatile it can be and was that both the detailed front and solid back can both be used at the same time. These stamps are called “Reversibles”. I wanted to show a simple card using just stamps, ink, and paper. Then stepped up by creating more layers and adding accessories. Lastly I created a WOW card and it uses everything! Stamps, ink, paper, die cuts, Stampin’ Blend Markers, accessories, embossing folders… if you can name it, I probably used it. I hope you enjoy watching this video and give the Mountain Air Stamp Set a try. You can purchase any supplies you need from my Stampin Up website: https://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?culture=en-us&dbwsdemoid=2042902

Simple Card

1- Begin by stamping on one Whisper White cardstock. Start with the Night of Navy ink and the pine tree sky line stamp. First stamp with the detailed front side of the stamp in the middle of the cardstock. Clean your stamp and flip it over. Stamp with the solid side and the Night of Navy ink. First ink up the stamp and stamp first OFF your cardstock on a scrap paper (don’t reink this stamp again). Then stamp over the detailed pine tree sky line image. Then flip the stamp and stamp on the cardstock again with out re-inking your stamp. Then flip it again and stamp along the bottom edge of the cardstock, lastly stamp in any areas that are still white. This technique gives you so many different shades of the same color and creates a fun water look.

2- Do the same technique for the mountain sky line stamp and the Mossy Meadow ink. With the detailed front of the stamp, stamp the mountains above the pine trees. Then clean and flip the stamp to the solid side. Ink it with Mossy Meadow and stamp off the cardstock onto some scrap paper, then stamp over the detailed Mountain image. Continue stamping, without re-inking the image, above the mountains to create more mountains in the distance and any white areas that need to be filled in with some light color.
3- Stamp the greeting “Time for a New Adventure” in Soft Suede to the right of a white strip.
4- Trim the sides of the Mountain scene to 4”x 4”
5- Add the Mountain Scene above center and all the way to the left of the card base. Add the greeting all the way to the right and over the water area.

All done!

Stepped-Up Card

1-3 Follow the same stamping directions above to create the mountain scene and greeting.
4- Trim the sides and bottom to 4” x 3.75”. Then use a pair of scissors and fussy out only the tops of the Mountain line.
5- Add the Mossy Meadow cardstock at an angle to the front of the card base. Add the Night of Navy (so it is tall and not wide) at an angle on top and all the way to the left.
6- Add the mountain scene to the Sahara Sand cardstock. Add this to the card with dimensionals all the way to the right.
7- Add a 4” strip of Braided Burlap with liquid adhesive at the base of the detailed waterline. Trim the sides of the greeting and add it over the burlap with liquid adhesive. Add 3 rhinestones around the greeting.

All done!

WOW! Card

1- Stamp the solid mountain image on the top of a piece of whisper white cardstock in Mossy Meadow ink. After inking the image stamp off the cardstock on top a piece of scrap paper first and then stamp 3 times to create a background mountain scene.
2- Re-ink the solid mountain in Mossy Meadow, stamp off, then stamp on the cardstock on the top of last piece of whisper white cardstock. Clean the image and flip it to the detailed side and ink and stamp over the solid mountain shape.
3- With the detailed pine tree side in Night of Navy stamp in the bottom half of one of the white cardstock papers. Clean the stamp and flip it to the solid side. Ink, stamp off, then stamp over the detailed pine tree image. Then without re-inking flip the stamp and stamp a “reflection” image below the pine trees.
4- Stamp the greeting in Soft Suede on the last strip of whisper white cardstock.
5- With the matching Majestic Mountain Dies cut out the detailed mountain range and the tops of the pine trees.
6- Flip the pine tree die and cut the “reflection”
7- Next cut the solid mountain range with the mountain die. When cutting the Mountain die only cut the top by placing the top clear plate only over the peaks. See image
8- Remove about 1.5” from the bottom of the whisper white cardstock. This piece will be for the adventure die
9- Lay the shadow mountains near the top of the Sahara Sand cardstock. Then place the detailed mountains on top. Add the pine tree layer last. Trim the edges to everything is even.
10- On the Gold Foil sheet color some dark old olive over the whole thing.
11- Then cut one pine tree with the die. Also cut out the adventure die from the whisper white cardstock and emboss & cut the 3 leaf die from the Nature Roots Dies in Mossy Meadow.
12- With the Dark Old Olive Blend Marker add color to all the veins in the leaves. Then with the Light Old Olive blend everything together. This will bring out the texture in the die.
13- Add texture with the Pinewood embossing folder to the Mossy Meadow cardstock.
14- Add the Mossy Meadow cardstock at an angle to the card base. Add the Night of Navy cardstock at an angle to the left of the card and the Mountain scene with dimensionals to the right of the card.
15- Add the gold pine tree with a couple drops of liquid adhesive to the left of the mountain scene. Add 4” of Braided Burlap Trim with liquid adhesive at the base of the detailed water edge. Next add the 3 leaf over the trim and pine tree.
16- Trim the greeting down to just “time for a new” add it over the burlap trim with liquid adhesive. Add “adventure below the burlap trim with liquid adhesive. Use one of the Blend Markers to color 3 rhinestones and add them around the greeting.

All done!

February 2020 Paper Pumpkin Subscription Box - Lovely Day | Use the Stamp Set to Make More Cards

It has been so fun playing with all the different elements from February 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit. For my last video I wanted to make sure I only use the stamp set to create a beautiful handmade card. I have also used a fun watercolor technique where you stamp and then spritz water over the image. This makes the ink bleed and you get such a nice soft edge to your images. This card can be made in any color and with any stamp set.

It is Paper Pumpkin Week here on CreativeChelsey. This is the fifth and last video this week. Make sure to look at previous videos for more inspiration on how to use your kit.

I also send a free exclusive card kit designed by me to all my Paper Pumpkin customers who received the February 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit. This is the card they will be making from their kit. I include all cardstock and accessories needed to make two of this card (adhesive and ink are not included). Interested in getting your own free exclusive kit for next month? February 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives - Lovely Day | Celebrate Birthdays with Handmade Cards

I am loving all the elements from the February 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit. These cards use a lot of elements that might have been discarded. I love trying to find new ways to use the elements in the kit. The second card uses a stamp technique called sponging, I use it to color the flower and to add some ink to the edges of the cardstock. I hope you enjoy this handmade card tutorial.
