Stampin Up - Under My Umbrella Stamp Set & Punch with basic Watercolor and Heat Embossing Techniques

Welcome to CreativeChelsey,
I am very excited to share with you today a Sneak Peek at some new products in the Stampin’ Up January – June 2020 Mini Catalog.

These projects were made with the Under My Umbrella Stamp Set and it’s coordinating Umbrella Builder Punch. Today I use some basic watercolor and heat embossing techniques to add texture and color to a “little soggy scene”. This is such a great springtime stamp set. The greetings are very versatile – you could use them for baby or bridal showers, thinking of you, birthday, and friendship cards – so many possibilities.

1- Paint a watercolor wash on the large Whisper White cardstock. Use the aqua painter and Pool Party ink. Let dry.
2- Stamp all images with White craft ink on the coordinating color cardstock. Before you stamp rub embossing buddy over the paper to remove static. After stamping each image immediately sprinkle white embossing powder over the image & tap off. Then heat with a Heat Tool. Repeat for all images.
Blackberry Bliss – greeting

Mossy Meadow – boots
Calypso Coral – umbrella
Whisper White – 3 flowers
3- With the aqua painter add Crushed Curry and Old Olive to the white flowers and leaves. Let dry.
4- On the dry large Whisper White cardstock stamp the rain drops in Pool Party. Repeat the image over the watercolor wash.
5- Punch out images. Use the 1 ½” circle punch for the greeting. Don’t forget to punch out the handle of the umbrella with the 2” x 2” of crumb cake cardstock.
6- Fussy cut the boots and the dry flowers. You do want some color on the outside edge of the image so the white embossing stands out.
7- To assemble – Begin by adhering the Pool Party DSP to the center of the card. Then add the large Blackberry bliss cardstock in the center.
8- Add the Whisper White cardstock with the rain drops to the center with dimensionals.
9- Add the Mossy Meadow boots first in the bottom left corner. Add the Crumb Cake handle at an angle. Add the Calypso Coral umbrella. Last add two flowers around the boots and umbrella and the smallest by the greeting.
10- Add snail to the back of the greeting and adhere some silver metallic thread in loops. Then place dimensionals over the thread and add it to the card.
All done!

½” Circle Punch 119869 $6.00
Pearl Basic Jewels 144219 $5.00
Paper Trimmer 152392 $25.00
Simply Shammy 147042 $8.00
Snail Adhesive 104332 $7.00
Multipurpose Liquid Glue 110755 $4.00
Dimensionals 104430 $4.00
Clear Block D 118485 $8.50
Paper Snips 103579 $10.00
Bone Folder 102300 $7.00
Stampin' Pierce Mat 126199 $5.00
Take Your Pick Tool 144107 $10.00
Simply Scored Scoring Tool 122334 $30.00

1- Begin with a 5.5” x 8.5” Whisper White card base and score at 2 1/8” and 6 3/8”. This will give us two sides that will meet in the middle.
2- Cut from a 4” x 5.25” piece of Designer Series Paper 2 – 2” strips. Adhere them to the two sides of the front of the card so they meet in the middle and there is a little border around the outside edge.
3- Use the Layering circle dies - cut out a ring of Soft Suede and the inside circle from Mint Macaron cardstock. Outside circle 3”    Inside circle 2 3/8”
4- Glue down the larger ring to the right flap only. Only add adhesive to one half of the circle. I used liquid adhesive to make a stronger bond with the cardstock.
5- Add glue to the inside of the ring on the left flap only. Then add the Mint Macaron circle. They should fit nicely together.
6- Cut three leaves from Garden Green cardstock. I used a retired punch, but any shape leaf from a punch or die will work. Adhere them to the circle. You don’t want them to hang outside the circle on the left or from the top / bottom, they can hang over slightly on the right.
7- Stamp any greeting in Terracotta Tile from the stamp set from the kit on the strip of Whisper White cardstock 0.5” x 2.25” This needs to stay inside the circle.
8- Punch 5 – ½” circle from whisper white cardstock. Stamp a flower from the stamp set in Terracotta Tile in the center of each one.
9- Cut out banner shape from each end of the greeting.
10- Add the greeting to the center of the circle with dimensionals.
11- Add the flowers with glue dots around the greeting.
12- Add three pearls around the greeting.
13- Make sure it opens and closes well. The inner circle should freely slide through the ring.

All done!

Simply Scored Scoring Tool 122334 $30.00

Card #1
1- Take your card base 8.5” x 5.5” and score the 8.5” side at 1.25” and 4.25”, flip the paper and repeat in the same places this will break down the fibers on both sides of the score line. Fold the card in middle first like a regular card and then fold the 1.25” section back and use a bone folder to make the creases nice and sharp.
2- Trim the Crushed Curry card base that comes from the kit. Cut the solid yellow side into a 1.25” x 5.5” strip and then 3” x 5.5”. Repeat with the polka dot side.
3- Stamp the flower stamp multiple times in the center of the 3” Crushed Curry and one 1.5” Grapefruit Grove cardstock in the matching color.
4- Add the pieces of cardstock to the card. The 1.25” polka dot strip goes on the front of the flap. The 3” Crushed Curry goes on the left of the flap. The Grapefruit Grove goes on the inside of the card on the right of the flap.
5- Off the card, remove the gold swirl from the kit. Add it over the Shaded Spruce Strip.
6- Add 4 leaves from the kit, 2 in the top left and 2 in the bottom right.

7- Add 2 large flowers from the kit near the leaves.
8- Add this element to the middle of the card, adhere it only to the polka dot flap.
9- Add embossing buddy to the adhesive on the back of the sticker. This covers the sticky exposed areas so they don’t stick to the card where we don’t want it to.
10- Stamp a greeting on the ticket label from the kit in Terracotta Tile and add it to the center with dimensionals
11- Add three small Grapefruit Groove flowers around the greeting.

12- If you would like you can add some of the rhinestones from the kit.

All done!

Card #2
1- Take your card base 8.5” x 5.5” and score the 8.5” side at 1.25” and 4.25”, flip the paper and repeat in the same places this will break down the fibers on both sides of the score line. Fold the card in middle first like a regular card and then fold the 1.25” section back and use a bone folder to make the creases nice and sharp.
2- Add the other pieces of cardstock to the card. The 1.25”  Crushed Curry goes on the front of the flap. The 3” polka dot goes on the left of the flap. The Grapefruit Grove goes on the inside of the card on the right of the flap.
3- On the Whisper White cardstock stamp the large flowers from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set in Crushed Curry. Stamp the first one in the top half with the bottom of the flowers around center. Then rotate your paper and stamp again.
4- Using both the 2 leaf and 3 leaf stamps, stamp some leaves around the flowers in Old Olive and Shaded Spruce ink.
5- Add the strip of Shaded Spruce to the center. It should come off the edge just a little.
6- Add 2 large and 5 small flower stickers from the kit.
7- Stamp a greeting on the ticket label from the kit in Terracotta Tile and add it to the center with dimensionals
8- Add this element to the middle of the card, only adhere it to the Crushed Curry flap.

9- If you would like you can add some of the rhinestones from the kit.

Add done!
