Quick and Easy Cards

I am reading a great book about creativity and one of the first things it has you do is reinvent a common object. Here is my first attempt and using the Blossom Punch I think I can still push the limits, but it was late and has been a long day with my wonderful children. And because I like to use what I make for my classes we will be making these for this months Beginners Night.

Here are some close ups. I started with the Calypso Coral flower first, pretty basic and exactly what it is designed for stamping with the Mixed Bunch stamp set.

Then I stamped, punched, and cut into the flower...doing the same thing for a background cardstock from Daffodil Delight.

I love making paper flowers and krincling them is such an easy way to make the stand out. Using the This and That Epic Day Designer Series Paper. I punch 2 flowers and then added some extra flowers in the center.

Last I wanted a different look to my punched flower yet still wanted a 3D feeling so I punched out my flower snipped once in between 2 petals. Then I overlapped the 2 petals so a cone shaped is formed. I punched another flower and did the same thing, just not overlapping as far. Then I curled down the petals and adhered the 2 flowers together.

I am really happy with how they turned out. If you would like to come and learn how to make them my Beginners Night is on the second Wednesday of each month, Wednesday, October 9th starting at 6pm at my home (Clearfield, UT 84015) 4 cards for $5. No supplies needed, just come and enjoy a little craft time.
Enrollment is limited to only 10 people. Please leave a comment to RSVP now to make sure you get in.

Thanksgiving Journal

For Stamp Shoppe in October we will be making this Thankful Journal.
This journal is so beautiful and a great way to express your thankfulness for everything good in your life. It comes with 5 pocket pages with a pull out sheet where either individuals or families can reflect on the year. The black square in each page is for a picture of the person or family. Bring out this journal on Thanksgiving day or give it as a gift.

It is made from the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit. It uses only 1/2 a kit (including the chipboard as the covers). Here is a picture showing the cover & all the pages.

Here is a close up of one of the pages.

This is the pull-out sheet where you can write what you are thankful for.

Okay now that you think I am a creative genius I do have to give credit where credit is due. This was another idea from convention this year. I fell in love with it and had to make it. If you have to make it too, then come to my class...we meet on Thursday, October 3rd starting at 6pm at my home (Clearfield, UT 84015) Cost is $15.

If you bring a friend that has not been to any of my classes before you both will get a special card from me for Free.
Enrollment is limited to only 10 people. Please RSVP now to make sure you get in.
Please remember to bring your own adhesive (liquid glue), scissors, & bone folder (with your name on them).
Leave a message/comment today and sign up for the class!

Stampin Up Envelope Builder Punch

Have you seen this?
I showed it to my club members this month and they love it! The biggest benefit they all mentioned was the ability to make envelopes for any size card. I also loved that someone mentioned they were going to use their scrap Designer Series Paper to make envelopes and then design a card to go inside. What a clever idea!

Here is an video showing you how to use this awesome NEW product!
Let me know if you have any question or want to come to my house and get a feel for it by using mine.

Birthday Invite

Have you used My Digital Studio? I love it!
It is so easy-to-use and really helps me in a pinch. This past July was Hazel's birthday and as summers go, we got really busy really fast and I didn't have time to design and make invitations to her party. MDS to the rescue! I used this pre-made template, changed it just a little, and added a 3D element, Ta-Da... I was done!

Here is how it stated as a Postcard Template:
Front

Back

My finished digital images. I printed 4 of these on a 8.5x11 photo paper.

Then I added some Crisp Cantaloupe Cardstock as a card base and a cute pinwheel made with Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper. And in less than a hour they were in the mail! Love My Digital Studio!

September club projects

This month I wanted to focus our club pages on a birthday theme. Mavericks birthday was this month and Hazels was in July so I have a lot of photos that need to be scrapbooked. I really love the versatile designs of the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper. I really could use it for any fun occasion and invitations would are a snap to put together. I used it for Hazels invites and they turned out super cute. I also made some simple pillow gifts for my roomies during convention. They included a bag made with this DSP and 3 small cards. I will post these and the birthday invitation later this week.

Here is the paper:

For club we also used the Make a Wish stamp set. Again so versatile, it includes everything you need for a party, including Your invited and date, time, place, & rsvp. I also LOVE the "make a WISH come true" stamp! Here is an image of the full set.
Here are my projects this month for club. Hope you like!

You may have noticed the cute envelope beneath the card. I also showed how to use the NEW Envelope Punch Board. Everyone loved it so much they added it to their orders. It is so easy to use! I will also post a video of this product by Stampin' Up later this week.
Here are the simple & cute accents for the scrapbook pages. I love love this chevron ribbon and ruffled ribbon. If you don't already know this awesome technique for a simple knot. Let me walk you through it quickly. Place a full length ribbon across the top of your page. Take a smaller length piece (I used around 7 inches) and tie it around the longer piece with just one knot. Ta-Da...just that easy.

FYI- these pages were not designed by me...I participated in a 12x12 scrapbook layout swap during convention with the Queens of the Stamp Age Stampers (my upline's group) and came out with some awesome projects! Thanks to the designer who created this one, your awesome!

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a creative day!
