Create 3 Beautiful Christmas / Holiday Tags with Gift Box using the Sweet Little Stockings Stamp Set

Hello My Crafting Friends,

Today I am sharing my August Stampin’ Up 2021 Artisan Design Team showcase projects.

For my project this month I decided to make a set of tags with a gift box that you can give as a little gift to teachers or neighbors for the Christmas holiday. I used the Sweet Little Stockings Stamp Set and coordinating products from the suite, like the Stockings Dies, and Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper. Along with sharing these festive tags with you I also want to share a quick masking technique to add small details to the wrapping paper on the presents. I hope you enjoy this tutorial and that it inspires you to create something today.

TAGS

1- Cut out the banner shape from the Jolly Felt. Adhere to matching Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper. Mimic the shape of the Banner to the DSP and remove the excess paper with Paper Snips.

2- If you desire, you can stitch around the Felt to add a little more detail. I used a basic stitch with white thread on my sewing machine. Make sure to attach 10” of Ribbon to the top of each tag, by folding it in half and attaching it about ½” into the felt, then stitch back and forth with your sewing machine.

3- Stamp the images from the Sweet Little Stockings Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink. Color with coordinating Stampin’ Blend Markers and cut out with coordinating dies.

4- Attach the stamped images in different arrangements to the 2” circles. Use dimensionals as you like to add depth. Then attach the Vellum Circles to the Tags by placing adhesive behind the elements so it doesn’t show.

5- Stamp your choice of greetings in Memento Black Ink and fussy cut out. Add these to the Tags. Add some coordinating embellishments from the Matte Decorative Dots.

GIFT BOX

1- Put together one of the Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes. Wrap the 5 ½” x 12” piece around the box starting with the front of the bottom and moving to the top. Wrap the excess around the top flat to make a seamless look. TIP – adhere as you go instead of adding all the adhesive first.

2- Cut out a banner shape from the Jolly Felt. Remove the point with a pair of good scissors so you just have a rectangle. Stitch around the edge with your sewing machine to match the tags.

3- Wrap the Pool Party Ribbon around the box and tie a bow on the right side. Add the Felt Piece to the center of the top flap with strong adhesive.

4- Add three presents to a 2” Vellum Circle. TIP – to add stamped images to the wrapping paper, create a mask by stamping the present on a sticky note, cut out the open areas you want to add details to and place it over the stamped and colored present. Then stamp your smaller images inside with a darker color of ink.

5- Add the Vellum Circle to the center of the Felt, then stamp and add your choice of greeting. Add three embellishments from the Matte Decorative Dots.

Must Try Cardmaking Technique - Global Stampin' Video Hop August 2021 - Stampin' Up!

Today is another tutorial for the Global Stampin’ Video Hop on YouTube. Each month on the fourth Friday other Stampin’ Up Demonstrators from around the world come together and share their projects based on a monthly theme. August’s Theme is Must Try Cardmaking Techniques. I don’t know about you but I am very excited to see what everyone comes up with.

For my Technique I wanted to try something I saw on Jennifer McGuire’s YouTube Channel. It was a swinging element to reveal a message. Today I am showing you my version of her technique with Stampin’ Up products. I hope you enjoy learning how to make this card and give the technique a try.

Make sure to check out what everyone makes for this monthly Video Hop. You can start with my video, I have linked it below. You can find the next video at the top of the video’s description on YouTube. Have fun!

Elegant Faceted Gems 152464 $7.50

Paper Trimmer 152392 $25.00

Clear Block D 118485 $8.50

Simply Shammy 147042 $8.00

Dimensionals 104430 $4.00

Paper Snips 103579 $10.00

Bone Folder 102300 $7.00

Take Your Pick Tool 144107 $10.00

Stamparatus 146276 $49.00

Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine 149653 $120.00

1- Using the Stamparatus stamp the Knit Together Stamp on the Crumb Cake Cardstock in Crumb Cake ink. To make the ink lighter I went over the stamp with a Blending Brush before stamping.

2- Layer the Harvest Meadow DSP over the Crumb Cake Cardstock and then add the leaf embellishment from Artistic Dies cut from Rose Gold Metallic Paper to the right side.

3- Cut from the two Early Espresso Cardstock pieces the large doilies from the Encircled In Beauty Dies and layer the more decorative one on top to give some dimension to the circle. This will the your swinging door.

4- Stamp your large greeting in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla Cardstock and cut out with the 3” Circle die. This will layer over the Early Espresso “swinging door” but do not adhere it right now.

5- I choose to cut a hole with the small “balloon” die from the Hippo & Friends Dies because it is large enough for a dimensional to go inside the opening. You can use something else if you have a circle that is similar in size. Place the “balloon” die at the top of the Swinging Door where it will be covered by the greeting. Cut out.

6- Place the Swinging Door on the background layers from step 2 and mark where you will cut the same “balloon” shape. Then cut it out.

7- Adhere a dimensional to the 1” circle. Place the hole from the background layers over the dimensional. Then place the Swinging Door over the dimensional. Remove the paper backing from the dimensional and add the greeting to the top of the Swinging Door – make sure to add more adhesive to the back of the greeting. This should now swing freely.

8- Adhere the Background layers to the cardbase. Keep the adhesive away from the 1” circle. This needs to move freely.

9- Swing the door up to the top position and stamp your hidden greeting in Early Espresso ink. Then add any embellishments you want, like a strip of Ribbon or a bow & Gems.

All Done!

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. Today is my third alternative card ideas using the August 2021 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Hope Box. These cards are what I call a two for one. Here are the dimensions and pieces you will need to create these cards:

From the Kit:

Melon Mambo Cardbase

3 Banners

16” Ribbon

Sequins

Extra Cardstock:

2 Thick Basic White Cardstock – Cardbase 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Pool Party Cardstock 1” x 4”

Here is a list of the supplies I used to make the cards:

Thick Basic White Cardstock 159229 $8.25

Pool Party Cardstock 122924 $8.75

Bumblebee Ink Pad 153116 $7.50

Melon Mambo Ink Pad 147051 $7.50

Bermuda Bay Ink Pad 147096 $7.50

Pool Party Ink Pad 147107 $7.50

Blending Brushes 153611 $12.00

VersaMark Ink Pad 102283 $9.50

Stampin’ Emboss Powders – Basic (White, Black, Clear) 155554 $18.00

Paper Trimmer 152392 $25.00

Simply Shammy 147042 $8.00

Stampin’ Seal Adhesive 152813 $8.00

Multipurpose Liquid Glue 110755 $4.00

Tear & Tape Adhesive 138995 $7.00

Dimensionals 104430 $4.00

Clear Block D 118485 $8.50

Paper Snips 103579 $10.00

Bone Folder 102300 $7.00

Stampin' Pierce Mat 126199 $5.00

Take Your Pick Tool 144107 $10.00

1- Cut the Melon Mambo Cardbase in half at 4 ¼”. Trim down the Melon Mambo side to 4” x 5 ¼”. Remove the top section at 1 ¾”.

2- On the White back side create a blend of colors using Blending Brushes and Bumblebee, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, & Blackberry Bliss. Trim down to 4” x 5 ¼” and remove the top section at 1 ¾”.

3- On the larger pieces. Stamp the greeting. You can choose to stamp in Blackberry Bliss or VersaMark and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder. If you choose to heat emboss, make sure to apply a generous amount of powder (embossing buddy) to the top of the Blended Background so the powder doesn’t stick to any wet ink.

Place the greeting in the top right corner of the Blended Background and the bottom right corner of the Melon Mambo piece.

4- Swap pieces so you have a blended piece with a Melon Mambo piece then add to your cardbases. I placed the Blended Background pieces on top for each of my cards – see images above.

5- Randomly stamp the flower image from the Stamp Set that came in the kit in Pool Party ink on the Pool Party 1” strip. Then cut down the middle to create two ½” x 4” pieces.

6- Remove 4-5 strings from the center of the Ribbon and wrap around the Pool Party strip and tie a bow. Your bow can be either in the middle or to the left of the strip.

7- Attach the strip over the seam between the two papers on the cardbase.

8- Cut each banner in around the half mark making one side small and the other a little bigger. I cut some at 2” and others at 1 ¾”. Mix and match patterns and sizes, then attach them to the card near the bows with dimensionals. Make sure not to cover any of the greeting. Add three sequins.

All Done!
