Simple Card Using A POP of COLOR - An Alternative Card Idea with the August 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Thanks for joining me today as I continue to share some beautiful card ideas you can make with the August 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Farmhouse Florals.

The cards in this kit have beautiful floral mixed with farmhouse images like a window pane, basket & typewriter. I love the simplicity of these cards and wanted to carry it into my alternatives as well.  The kit makes a total of 9 cards 3 of three different designs with coordinating envelopes.

This is the third alternative card idea I will be sharing with you this week. This care uses a pop of color to bring out the beautiful orange pink flowers inside the basket from the printed cardbase in the kit. I also added some die cut & stamped flowers to give a little extra to the card.

If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and make the original cards visit this playlist -  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNlmD-ZYmLZXnqpRLnwKNAyi

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below.

I also want to mention the amazing perks you can receive when you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me as your demonstrator. With every Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set & Ink Spot sent, I design a card and mail out my very own card kit to my subscribers so they can make two of my exclusive card design. These cards so fun and show new ways to use stamps & ink. We also meet once each month to make the card together, chat & have fun.

*PLUS I have joined with other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators to design 7-10 more alternative ideas in a PDF Tutorial (includes photos & instructions). My subscribers receive this PDF Tutorial along with an Exclusively Designed Card Kit, all for FREE! If you would also like to receive this extra perk, sign up for paper pumpkin using the link below and make sure to select me as your demonstrator.

 Very Vanilla Cardstock – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Calypso Coral Cardstock – 3-7/8” x 5-1/8” & scraps for die cuts

Petal Pink Cardstock – scrap for die cuts

Basket of Flowers Cardbase (kit) – 3-3/4” x 5”

 Envelope Scraps for Stamping (kit)

1- Make sure to use the Cutting Guide (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1w8SVMCWiI6t93VmcuvO6yF5Ua8c34ucH/view?usp=sharing) to cut your pattern paper to the right size from the cardbases in the kit.

2- Roughen up the Basket of Flowers piece and the large Calypso Coral piece to give it a distressed look. Then adhere the Calypso piece behind the Basket piece and add them to the center of the Very Vanilla Cardbase.

3- Cut from Petal Pink Cardstock the Circle Die from the Circle of Season Dies. Cut a small piece from one side of the circle making a straight edge. Add this to the bottom left area.

4- Punch a 1-1/4” Circle (I used a retired punch) from some of the leftover scraps when you cut out all the pieces using the Cutting Guide above. Stamp a greeting inside with Secret Sea ink. Add this with a dimensional to the space where the Pink Circle and Basket meet.

5- Cut out 3 Calypso Coral Flowers with the Flower Die in the Circle of Season Dies. Add a little extra color to the centers with the Dark Calypso Coral Blend Marker. Add these around the greeting.

6- On the Envelope Paper (see alternative #1) Stamp 5 Small Flowers in Darling Duckling or another yellow color. Stamp 4-5 Leaves in Garden Green ink. Fussy cut out. Add them around the greeting.

7- Add 3-5 embellishments if you want. I used the Antique Pearls and placed them inside the die cut flowers and a couple by the bottom of the Basket.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step.
