Alternative Idea for a Message In A Bottle Handmade Card - July 2022 Paper Pumpkin Paper Craft Kit

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my second alternative idea using the July 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Sending Good Thoughts.

This kit comes with everything you need to make 9 Handmade Cards, 3 in three different designs. This kit has a fun nautical feeling to it. I love the stamps & die cut images. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative cards. Today I am sharing my Message in a Bottle version. I love creating alternative projects with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more as I continue to create with this month’s kit.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

1- Cut the scallop embossed piece in half at 2 5/8”. Cut an envelope to 2” x 4 ¼”.

2- Stamp with the net pattern in Fresh Freesia in three areas on the cardbase. Use a rock & roll technique to get different amounts on ink from the stamp – see video. Stamp the starfish or seahorse in Fresh Freesia around the net texture.

3- Add one of the scallop embossed halves about 1”- 1 ½” from the bottom. Tear the top and bottom of the envelope piece. Roll up the top and bottom to create a scroll look. Add to the left side of the cardbase.

4- Stamp the scroll image inside the small bottle. I used Basic Gray ink. Adhere to the center of the envelope piece with dimensionals.

5- Stamp the seaweed image in Bermuda Bay on Basic White Cardstock. Ink and stamp the first, then don’t reink and and stamp a second time to get a lighter color. I used three images. Fussy cut out and add on the left and right sides of the bottle with dimensionals.

6- Add the Red Seahorse Die Cut to the left. Stamp the greeting on the Small Greeting Tag. Add under the bottle and seaweed with dimensionals.

7- Tie a bow with 10” of Linen Thread through the hole on the greeting tag. Add 3-5 sequins.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step and some of the details from the other cards:

1- Cut an envelope to 4” x 5 ¼”. Stamp with the net pattern in Basic Gray ink in three areas. Use a rock & roll technique to get different amounts on ink from the stamp – see video. Stamp the starfish in Balmy Blue around the net texture.

2- Tear the bottom edge from the envelope paper & crinkle into a ball. Then smooth out and add to the front of the Bermuda Bay Cardbase.

3- Cut the Stripe Embossed Piece in half at 2” then remove a ½” strip from the center.

4- Tear the bottom edge from the Pacific Point strip. Add under the Stripe Embossed strip. Then add to the cardbase about 1 ¼” from the bottom.

5- Stamp the Ship inside the bottle with Bermuda Bay ink. You can use VersaMark ink first before inking up in Bermuda Bay. This gives you a nice crisp image. Add to the cardbase with dimensionals all the way to the right over the strips of paper.

6- Remove the far Right Branch from the Red Coral Die Cut. Add with a dimensional at the bottom and dots of glue along each branch. Place it to the left of the bottle.

7- Stamp your greeting in Pacific Point on the 1 ½” circle. Add over the Red Coral with a dimensional or two.

8- Finish with 3-5 green/blue sequins from the Adhesive-Backed Sequins & Gems pack.

All Done!

Wonderful World Stamp Set & Designer Series Paper - July & August 2022 Sale-A-Bration

SALE-A-BRATION IS HERE!

If you love Stampin' Up Products, then this is your favorite time of year. Choose free Sale-a-bration products with every $50 or $100 order (before tax and shipping). No Limit on how much you can earn! Ends Aug. 31 2022

During the next two months I will be sharing with you all the fun creations I have made with these items. I hope this inspires you and gives you new and fun ways to use them.

This Week I will be highlighting the

WONDERFUL WORLD STAMP SET & DESIGNER SERIES PAPER BUNDLE

The first card uses both the stamp set & DSP together. The patterns from this Designer Series Paper Pack are amazing. There are 6 bold floral patterns with lots of color and 6 simpler patterns in one or two colors. I loved mixing the bold and the simple patterns together on this card. Which pattern is your favorite?

Product List

This card really shows the beautiful flowers from this stamp set. It is a Distinktive Set, which means you get photo-realistic style images. Distinktive stamps have a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step. One tip when using distinktive sets, add color with a Blending Brush or Sponge Daubers. This technique applies the right amount of ink to the stamp. If too much is applied the look isn’t achieved.

Product List

One thing I wanted showcase from this bundle is how the paper can stand on its own. One of the patterns has large beautiful flowers. For this card I fussy cut one out, layered it on top of a piece of vellum and added it to a cardbase with similar colors from the same Wonderful World Designer Series Paper Pack. The vellum helps separate the large flower from the busy background, but still lets all the beautiful colors show through. If you used all the large flowers from this pack, you could create 22 cards similar to this one.

Product List

Since the last card I shared showed only the paper from the bundle, today’s card shows an idea you can do with only the Wonderful World Stamp Set. Just stamp one of the flowers randomly on a piece of cardstock to create a background, then layer some ribbon and cardstock. Add your main flower with more detail and color and pop on a greeting. This simple card can be made with any of the flowers from this set and in any color combination. Super quick and simple!

Product List

Each week I have also been sharing how you can some of the other Sale-a-bration items together. For this card I use the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper along with the Perfect Pomegranate Host Stamp Set. You can get this set for free with a $300 order during sale-a-bration. DM me if you have questions about this. I love how these simple patterns are the perfect backdrop to the branch and flowers. The greeting is from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set.

Product List

This beautiful card uses another large flower fussy cut from the Wonderful World Designer Series Paper and the Silver & Gold Designer Series Paper. Both you can get for free when you order through my online store. Click on images to order.

This beautiful background was made on Shimmery White Cardstock with Orchid Oasis & Mossy Meadow ink. I love how it feels like a stormy summer day.

Product List

I hope these cards have inspired you to make something fun with the WONDERFUL WORLD STAMP SET & DESIGNER SERIES PAPER!

I would love to see what you make - tag me in any social media post @creativechelsey or #creativechelsey

Have a creative day,
