This Die Cutting Trick Changes Everything! | Paper Pumpkin Alternative for January 2026 Special Delivery Kit

Welcome back to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey!

Today I’m excited to share my eighth alternative card design created with the January 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Special Delivery.

This card is extra special because it features a partial die cutting technique—one of my favorite ways to stretch your dies and create custom shapes that perfectly fit your design.

Instead of using the Large Rectangle Postage Die at its full size, I used partial die cutting to create a smaller square shape for the sentiment—perfect for this collage-style layout.

If you recreate this card, be sure to tag me @creativechelsey or use #creativechelsey so I can see your version!

Below you’ll find the full step-by-step tutorial, measurements, and supplies so you can create along with me.

Card Assembly Instructions

1. Cardbase

Stamp with Bubble Bath ink random images from the kit. I used the Air Mail & Tiny Hearts on the Solid Pink Cardbase piece.

Add the Pink Plaid Cardbase strip to the left edge.

Splatter with Poppy Parade ink. I used the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend Marker.

2. Add the Envelope Pieces

Add the larger Pink Plaid Envelope square to the bottom left area with the white address in the center of the card (so it can be covered by the other pieces).

Add the Blue Plaid Envelope square to the right. Cover the white address area.

Add the Green Plaid Envelope square to the top of the other two.

3. Stamp Details

On the Green Plaid piece stamp the Cancelled Postage image in Mossy Meadow ink.

On the Blue Plaid piece stamp the Row of Tiny Hearts in Blueberry Bushel ink.

On the Pink Plaid piece stamp the Love / Heart Circle in Poppy Parade ink.

Add this piece to the center of the cardbase.

4. Add the Postage Stamps

Add with dimensionals the three remaining Postage Stamp Die Cuts from the kit in a triangle shape.

Leave a space in the center for the greeting.

5. Partial Die Cutting for the Greeting

Cut from the White Cardbase the large Postage Rectangle from the Beautiful Blooms Dies.

Place the rectangle back in the die with only 4 scallops inside the die. Cut with your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

Rotate the paper and add it back into the die with 4 scallops again. Cut to create a square.

Stamp your greeting in Memento Black ink inside the scallop square.

6. Finish with Embellishments

In the center of the card add adhesive.

Create a faux double-bow with 20” of White Baker’s Twine.

Add the greeting over the center of the bow with dimensionals.
