January 2026 Special Delivery Paper Pumpkin Box - Alternative Card Idea - Soft & Elegant Elements

Today I’m sharing my second alternative card design using the January 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Special Delivery.

This kit continues to impress me with its soft color palette, postal-inspired imagery, and gorgeous floral elements. For this card, I leaned into those details and created a layered, elegant design that feels perfect for any occasion, sending encouragement, thanks, or a simple hello.

By trimming and layering the kit components in a slightly different way, you can easily stretch your supplies and create a card that feels more detailed while still being quick to assemble.

Measurements

Basic Beige Cardbase - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4"

Crumb Cake Cardstock - 4" x 5-1/4"

Pink Plaid Cardbase* - 2-7/8" x 3-1/2"

Small White Cardbase* - 5/16” strip

Large White Flower*

Old Olive Cardstock - 2 die cut leaves

Gold Foil - beautiful die cut

Basic White - (2) beautiful die cut

White Baker’s Twine - 10"

Adhesive, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

 

Card Assembly Instructions

1. Create the Card Base

With Crumb Cake ink stamp the Cancelled Postage Image (circle with wavy lines), Air Mail & Tiny Row of Hearts randomly around the Crumb Cake piece. I did group the images together to keep it from feeling too scattered.

Splatter with Crumb Cake ink - I used the Dark Crumb Cake Blend Marker.

Adhere to the front of the cardbase.

2. Create Layered Focal Background Piece

Cut the Pink Plaid Cardbase to 2-7/8" x 3-1/2". Add it with dimensionals to the right side of the cardbase.

Cut off the short side of the Scallop Gold Plaid Oval and tuck under the Pink Plaid piece on the left side.

3. Create the Floral Element

Add the Large White Flower to the top left area with a dimensional.

Cut two Leaves from Old Olive Cardstock. I used the Beautiful Blooms Dies. Tuck under the Flower.

4. Add the Greeting

Add Adhesive Sheet to Gold Foil Sheet and Basic White Cardstock. Die cut your choice of greeting - I used the Beautiful Die from the Beautiful Blooms Die Set.

Cut one from Gold Foil and two from White.

Stack the Gold Foil on top of the whites to create a thick die cut. Add it below the flower.

Ink and stamp only the word “DAY” in Black ink on the 5/16” strip from the Small White Cardbase in the kit.

5. Finish with Embellishments

Separate the strands from one 10” White Baker’s Twine.

Group three strands together and wrap around your fingers to create two loops. Add a glue dot where the loops and ends connect and tuck under the flower on one side.

Repeat with the remaining two strands on the other side.
