January 2026 Paper Pumpkin Special Delivery Kit - Alternative Card Pretty Valentine with Postage Layers

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey!

I’m so excited to kick things off by sharing my first alternative card idea using the January 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit: Special Delivery.

This kit is filled with soft Valentine colors, gorgeous floral images, and fun postage-inspired elements that are perfect for stretching your supplies and creating something a little different from the original designs.

For this first alternative, I wanted to highlight the beautiful stamped flower, layered postage-style frames, and one of my favorite tricks—using pieces from the kit card bases to create focal layers.

If you recreate this card, be sure to tag me @creativechelsey or use #creativechelsey so I can see your version!

Below you’ll find the full step-by-step tutorial, measurements, and supplies so you can create along with me.

Card Assembly Instructions

1. Create the Card Base

Splatter the front of the Basic Beige Cardbase with Crumb Cake ink. I used the Dark Crumb Cake Blend Marker.

2. Stamp the Pink Plaid Envelope

Cut one Pink Plaid Envelope to 1-3/4" x 4-1/4". Stamp the Rose image from the kit in Bubble Bath ink randomly across the strip for subtle interest. Adhere the strip to the card about 1-3/4" from the top.

3. Create Layered Focal Background Piece

Cut from the Pink Plaid Cardbase a 3-1/4" x 2” piece. Stamp with Poppy Parade ink the Love/Heart image and Row of Tiny Hearts randomly across the piece.

Cut from the Small White Cardbase one Postage Stamp Rectangle Die. Adhere & center the Pink Plaid piece on top of the die cut Postage Stamp rectangle.

Add to the cardbase about 3/4" from the right with Dimensionals to add depth.

4. Add the Flower Postage Stamp & Greeting

Adhere the Pink Rose Postage Stamp to the top left corner of the layered pieces with dimensionals.

Stamp “Happy Valentine’s” greeting in Poppy Parade on the sentiment strip from the kit. Attach it across the lower right area of the layered pieces with dimensionals.

5. Finish with Embellishments

Tie a double bow with 15” of Red & White Baker’s Twine and adhere under the left side of the greeting with a glue dot.

Video Tutorial

I’ve also created a step-by-step video tutorial walking you through this card from start to finish. If you’d like to see how the pieces come together and get more tips for stretching your kit, be sure to watch the video and follow along!
