#tgifc406 Color Challenge - Scenic Garden

It is time for another TGIF Challenge!

This week is a Color Combination Challenge:

Here is the card I created from the color challenge this week. I have loved all the free products I received last month with my qualifying orders during Sale-a-bration! In my last order I was able to earn the Host Sale-a-bration Stamp Set – Scenic Garden. You can also get this Stamp Set with a $300 order or as a Host. Contact me if you have any questions.

I watercolored the background flowers with Tahitian Tide & Gorgeous Grape ink, plus a little Garden Green for the leaves. Then I colored in the bench with Gray Watercolor Pencil and smoothed it out with a Blender Pen. I love the contrast that these two techniques have when used together.

I think this combination is perfect for this beautiful scene. What are you going to make with this color combination?

Don’t miss out on being inspired by the other designers – head over to TGIF Challenges Blog - https://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com/2023/02/tgifc406-color-challenge.html

Did you know that you can participate in the challenges each week? Create your own project inspired by the current weekly challenge. Upload it to the TGIF blog post using the Linky Tool at the bottom. See the guidelines on the TGIF post.

I would love to see what you make!

Product List

1- On 4 ¼” x 5 ½” Shimmery White Cardstock stamp in Stazon Ink your images. I used the Bench image in the center, a couple long flowers on the left, and just the flowers from the gate on the right. Stamp the pebbles along the bottom.

2- Watercolor the flowers on the left with Tahitian Tide ink and a Water Painter. Watercolor the flowers on the right and near the bench with Gorgeous Grape ink. Add Garden Green ink to the leaves. Add Smoky Slate ink to the pebbles and a little under the bench to create a shadow.

3- On a second piece of 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” Shimmery White Cardstock stamp the bench image in Stazon ink and color with the Gray & Black Watercolor Pencils. Use a Blender Pen to smooth out the marks.

4- Fussy cut out the bench. Add it over the first stamped image with the watercolor flowers. I used liquid glue for the legs, but popped out the top of the bench with dimensionals. Trim the image down to 3 ¾” x 5”.

5- Stamp on another 2 ¾” x 4 ¼” Shimmery White piece three long flowers. Watercolor one with Tahitian Tide flowers and two with Gorgeous Grape flowers. Fussy cut out.

6- Add them with dimensionals near the flowers of the same color. Stagger to fill in any gaps and create a fuller look. Trim off any overhanging areas.

7- Then add to the center of piece of 3 7/8” x 5 1/8” Basic Black Cardstock. Then add to the center of your Smoky Slate Cardbase with dimensionals.

8- Stamp you greeting, I used “Thanks For Being So” “Are In Order” “Friend” from the Kind & Sincere Stamp Set. Stamp on Basic Black Cardstock in VersaMark or Whisper White Craft ink, add White Embossing Powder and Heat Set until smooth and shiny. Then trim to just the words you want and add with dimensionals to your card.

9- Add any embellishments you want. I used 5 Gorgeous Grape Opaque Adhesive Backed Gems.

All Done!
