Global Stampin' Video Hop February 2023 - EMBOSSING FOLDERS - How To Emphasize The Design With Color

It is time for another tutorial for the Global Stampin’ Video Hop on YouTube. Each month on the fourth Friday Stampin’ Up Demonstrators from around the world come together and share their projects based on a monthly theme. February’s Theme is – Embossing Folders. I am so excited to see what everyone creates.

For my card today, I wanted to share with you one way you can add color to the texture created from Embossing Folders. There are many ways to add color, this is just one way. For this technique I used the Painted Posies 3DEmbossing Folder with Sponge Daubers to apply the ink which gives a soft look to the texture.

I hope you are inspired today with all the fun techniques you see while jumping from video to video and make something fun. We would love to see what you come up with you can tag me @creativechelsey in any social media post.

Make sure to check out what everyone makes for this monthly Video Hop. You can start with my video, I have linked it below. You can find the next video at the top of the video’s description on YouTube. Have fun!

Product List

Here are the dimensions and pieces you will need to create this set of cards:

Balmy Blue Cardbases – (2) 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Basic White Cardstock – 6” x 6” (will cut down to get two 3” x 5 ½”) & 3/8” strips for greeting

Flowers & More DSP – (4) ½” x 5 ½” strips

Vellum Cardstock – (2) 1 ½” Circle

Silver Thread – (2) 16”

1- Place the 6” x 6” Basic White Cardstock inside your embossing folder. I used the Painted Posies 3D Folder. Run it through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

2- Add ink to the tip of your Sponge Dauber and gently rub or tap the texture created by the embossing folder. I used Garden Green ink for the leaves and Gorgeous Grape & Rich Razzleberry for the flowers.

3- Cut the embossed paper in half to 3” x 5 ½”. You should have two pieces the extra same size.

4- If you want add a little color to the top & sides with a Blending Brush & Balmy Blue ink.

5- Add pattern paper to the left & right sides. I used a Balmy Blue stripe pattern from the Flowers & More DSP. Cut it into ½” x 5 ½” strips and adhere to the sides with about ¼” showing.

6- Add everything to the center of your cardbase.

7- Stamp your greeting on Basic White Cardstock in a coordinating color. I used greetings from the Best Family Ever Stamp Set on 3/8” strips with Gorgeous Grape Ink. Cut into smaller sections and adhere to the center of a 1 ½” Vellum Circle.

8- Add some adhesive to the bottom right area on the cardbase. Wrap 16” of silver thread back and forth to create a double faux bow.

9- Place dimensionals behind the greetings on the vellum circle and add over the center of the bow.

10- Add some embellishments. I used some Opal Rounds.

All Done!
