Use Stamps To Create An Ombre Background with the JINGLE JINGLE JINGLE & SWEET CANDY CANES Stamp Sets from Stampin' Up!

Today I am excited to share with you a card I created for a fun Instagram Hop the 2022 Artisan Design Team put together. We kicked off the Christmas Season with a Secret Santa CASE where we CASEd another team member. I was secretly assigned the amazing Karen Hadler! I share the card that inspired my creation below.

Some of the elements that I loved about her card were the blended Ombre background. I wanted to use the same idea but with a stamp set. This fun “Believe” & “in the magic” comes from the Jingle Jingle Jingle Stamp Set, which I have used on a lot of projects recently. I also loved how she had a center focal point which I added with fun Candy Canes from the Sweet Candy Cane Bundle.

Here are the dimensions and pieces you will need to create this card:

Basic White Cardstock 4” x 5 ¼” | ½” x 3” |scraps for stamping

Crumb Cake Cardbase 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Vellum Cardstock

Crumb Cake Baker's Twine 12"

Product List

1- On the Basic White piece stamp your image or solid greeting in a repetitive pattern. I started with the darkest color – Garden Green and stamped three full rows at the bottom. Then move to the medium color – Granny Apple Green and stamped two rows. Then the lightest color at the top – Soft Sea Foam filling in the space.

2- Using the matching ink color stamp the outline for your greeting over each image.

3- Add some distressing and color with a blending brush. Add matching color in each section. Soft Sea Foam at the top, Granny Apple Green middle, Garden Green at the bottom. Keep the ink very light. Then add a little Early Espresso ink along the outside edge.

4- Add a little splatter with the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker. Add this piece to the center of the cardbase.

5- Cut out some Vellum with the largest of the Seasonal Label Dies. Add a little shimmer with Wink Of Stella Brush. Let dry. It might warp depending on how much you add. Focus on the edges.

6- Stamp both Candy Cane Images in Sweet Sorbet on Basic White Cardstock scraps. Stamp three branches in Balmy Blue. Cut out with coordinating dies.

7- Add a little distressing with Sweet Sorbet and a blending brush on the Candy Canes. Add a little Early Espresso on the branches. Remember to keep it very light!

8- Add the Candy Canes in the center of the Vellum piece with dimensionals. Stagger them slightly, they can overlap if you like.

9- Stamp the greeting “in the magic” in Early Espresso. Distress the edges with the same color ink and a blending brush. Rough up the edges a little or fold down a corner as you want.

Add a faux bow in Crumb Cake twine to the back of the greeting.

Then add with dimensionals on the sides in the middle of the Candy Canes. The edges should match the edges of the vellum piece.

10- Tuck in the Balmy Blue branches around the greeting. Use dimensionals or glue dots as needed.

11- Add this to the center of the cardbase with dimensionals. Place the dimensionals on the back of the vellum hidden behind the other elements.

Add three darker brass looking dots from the Brushed Metallic Dots pack.

All Done!
