How I made this Handmade Card using a New Stamping Technique called Mirror Stamping!

I am so excited to be sharing with you today a great technique that really opens the possibilities when stamping. The Mirror Technique!

This technique creates a mirror image of the original stamped image. There are always those times when stamping that you wished the stamp went the opposite direction. In this tutorial I will show you how easy it is to do just that.

If you need any Stampin' Up product to make this or any other card / project you can order online 24/7 at https://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?culture=en-us&dbwsdemoid=2042902

Here are the measurements for the cardstock needed to make this card:
Sahara Sand Cardstock card bases 5.5" x 8.5" scored at 4.25"

Mirror Stamping!
1- You will need a Stamparatus or similar tool. You will also need a large photopolymer stamp that is bigger than the image you want to mirror. Then of course the image you want to mirror.
2- Place the photopolymer stamp the "wrong way" on one of the plates of the stamparatus. This means that the back or flat side of the image is facing up and the image is stuck to the plate.
3- Take the image you are stamping and place it on the photopolymer stamp that is already on the plate of your stamparatus. The reason for this is to make sure the image fits inside and make sure they will line up when stamping.
4- Close the plate and give good pressure. This will make the stamp stick to the base of the stamparatus in the correct place. When you open it, the stamp should stay on the base and your photopolymer stamp should be on the plate.
5- Ink up your image. I used Soft Suede Ink.
6- Close the plate and press down. This will transfer the image to flat side of the photopolymer. Repeat these last 2 steps - ink and transfer.
You can see the image of the bird on the photopolymer stamp in this picture.

7- Now place a piece of paper over the stamp on the base.
8- Then close the plate and apply pressure. This is transferring the ink from the flat side of the photopolymer stamp to the paper.
9- Open the plate and remove the paper.

Yay! It worked.
10- To complete this card I want both images.
So I re-inked the image and placed a paper over the image and then closed the plate to get a regular image of the bird.

Now to complete the Card-
1- I used the Stampin' Blends to color in the birds. First I started with the light crumb cake and added color to the bellies.
2- Next I added Light Old Olive to the whole under side.
3- Then I added Dark Pool Party on the neck, head, back, wings and tail.
4- Next I added Light Pool Party the the head and back, making sure I blended the dark color with the light color.
5-  Last I used the Dark Daffodil Delight for the beak.
6- Fussy cut out both birds using paper snips.
7- Use one of the labels from the Stitched Nested Label Dies - I used the one that measures around 4" along the longest dimension. Cut this from a piece of Soft Suede Cardstock.
8- Using the wreath die from the All-Around Wreath Die Set from Pool Party Cardstock.
9- Adhere the layer the Whisper White cardstock on to the Sahara Sand Cardstock base.  I used snail adhesive.
10- Then adhere the Soft Suede Label to just below middle with some snail.
11- Use a liquid glue to add the wreath to the card. I placed the wreath so the bottom of the wreath touches the bottom of the label and the left of the wreath touches the left of the white cardstock.
12- Use dimensionals to add the birds. I placed one to the right with the tail just touching the right side of the white cardstock and the head of the bird is just above the soft suede label. The other I placed so the tail is touching the left of the white cardstock and it's feet are at the bottom of the label.
13- Ink and stamp your greeting on to the 0.5" strip of white cardstock. I used the We're the Best of Friends greeting.
14- On the back of your greeting add some snail adhesive and then wrap some of the silver metallic thread around your hand and place it on the adhesive. Then add dimensionals over the thread to hold it in place.
15- Add this just below the feet of the bird on the right. Then add the silver metallic pearls.

And your done.
I have also created this video walking you through how to do mirror stamping and the steps I took to make this card. I hope you enjoy!
