Sew fun

I like to sew, but don't always want to and so my pile of things to sew tends to get bigger and bigger and takes over the chair in our bedroom. Well this past weekend it was time to tackle the pile. I thought you might like to see a couple of the things I did. I am not showing you everything...a lot of things were boring like fixing a button, turning a dress I don't wear anymore into a skirt that I will wear, or fixing small holes in seams.

Pillows for our bed.
Recently we purchased a new duvet cover for our bed and I have been wanting throw pillows for sometime, however the colors are a little challenging and I don't really like spending $30 on one pillow!
I came into a little extra money in December with it being my birthday and Christmas and decided I was going to buy some pillows. I found the gray one for only $19, but I could not find anything with the bright yellow I was looking for, right as I was giving up I turned down the clearance isle and out of the corner of my eye, I saw this curtain panel and only $17, score! I was able to use the cute pom-pom trim at the top to add texture, and I easily made 2 pillows from one panel.

Maverick's Jeans.
A couple months ago Maverick started getting holes in my favorite pair of his jeans, such a sad day! I have been letting him continue to wear them, but the hole has been getting larger, finally I needed to do something or I was sure he was going to get bored one day and rip them just for fun. I found a couple really good tutorials online and bought some plaid fabric and did my best. He thinks they are pretty cool and luckily they still look pretty good on him...just probably not family picture material anymore. What do you think?

Even though I didn't touch any paper, stamps, or ink this past weekend I still felt creative and definitely accomplished.
Have a creative day!
