Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Alternative #4 using the June 2026 Bikes & Blooms Kit! This card is a great example of how you can take one of the patterned envelopes from your Paper Pumpkin Kit and turn it into a beautiful card background.
For this design, I used the stripe pattern from one of the envelopes as the main background. I love the soft, pink stripes, but I wanted them to have a little more visual impact, so I used ink to darken the stripes and make the pattern stand out.
The other fun technique on this card is
the triple-generation stamping on the flowers. Using just Calypso
Coral ink, I was able to create three different shades simply by stamping
the image multiple times without re-inking. It's an easy technique that gives
the flowers so much dimension!
And, of course, I had to add some of those adorable little flowers and leaves from the kit to create a full floral basket.

Card Assembly Instructions
1. Cut Apart the Envelope & Darken the Stripes
Start with one of the Pink Stripe
Envelopes from the kit. Instead of using the envelope as intended, carefully
open it along the folded edges so you can use the patterned paper for
cardmaking.
Trim the striped section to approximately
3-3/4" x 5" with the White Rectangle in the center.
The stripes on the envelope are pretty on
their own, but I wanted to make them pop a little more. Use Light Calypso
Coral Blend Marker and color in every other stripe.
This is such an easy way to customize the
patterned paper from the kit!
2. Add A Darker Border & Greeting to the Center
I used the Crisp Cantalope Shimmer Brush
to add a thin dark border around the White Rectangle in the center of the
stripe pattern.
Don’t worry if your lines are not
perfectly straight. This pattern has a hand drawn look.
Stamp your greeting in Calypso Coral ink
in the top half of the White Rectangle.
3. Splatter
Add the Stripe Envelope piece to the
front of the cardbase with dimensionals.
Cover the greeting with a small piece of
paper or sticky note. This will keep the splatter off the area around the
greeting.
Splatter with Dark Calypso Coral Blend
Marker to give more texture to the background.
Remove the paper covering the greeting.
Triple-Generation Stamping
4. Stamp the Flowers
Now for my favorite technique on this
card!
Using the 5 flower stamp from the
Bikes & Blooms stamp set and Calypso Coral ink, we're going to
create three different shades using just one ink pad.
This is called generation stamping
or second- and third-generation stamping.
Here's how it works:
First generation:
Ink your stamp
and stamp it directly onto your Basic White cardstock scrap. This gives you the
darkest and most intense shade of Calypso Coral.
Second generation:
Without
re-inking the stamp, add a warm breath to activate the leftover ink and stamp
the image a second time. You'll get a lighter shade.
Third generation:
Repeat, stamping the image a third time without adding
more ink. Make sure to add a warm breath, this will help the last of the ink
come off the stamp. This gives you an even softer shade. If this color is too
light for you - you can use Barley Blush ink or another light pink color.
The result is a beautiful assortment of
flowers that look like you used several different ink colors—but you only
needed one ink pad!
5. Add Details to the Small Planter Die Cut
Stamp the same 5-Flower Image in Calypso
Coral matching the openings to the Small Planter Die Cut.
Fussy cut out a couple flowers from each
shade of Calypso Coral you stamped in step 4. I cut out the two largest from
the dark shade, two largest from the medium shade, and the three
Add the individually cut flowers with
glue dots to the Small Planter Die Cut to create a larger floral arrangement.
I especially love how the different
shades of Calypso Coral work together. The darker flowers draw your eye in,
while the lighter flowers help fill out the arrangement.
6. Create the Bow & add Butterflies
Adhere the Small Planter to the bottom
half of the White Rectangle with dimensionals in the center.
Cut (2) 9” strands of Linen Thread. Wrap
them around two fingers and attach the two loops and one end to a glue dot.
Tuck the glue dot under the Small Planter
Die Cut to create a half-double bow.
Repeat with the second strand and place
on the opposite side of the first strand completing the bow look.
Add 2 Silver Butterfly Embellishments
from the kit, if you want.
My Favorite Techniques on This Card
🧡 Darkening Patterned Paper
Don't be afraid to alter the patterned
papers and envelopes in your Paper Pumpkin Kit!
The pink stripes were already beautiful,
but adding a little Calypso Coral ink made them richer and helped them
coordinate even better with the stamped flowers.
It's a simple way to make the kit's
supplies work with the exact look you're trying to create.
🌸 Triple-Generation Stamping
This is one of my favorite easy stamping
techniques because you can get three different shades from one ink pad.
With Calypso Coral, the darkest
first-generation impression gives you a bold flower, while the second- and
third-generation impressions create softer shades.
It makes the floral arrangement look much
more varied without needing several ink colors.
🌿 Layering Small Pieces
Those little flowers and leaves might
seem like tiny pieces, but they can make a BIG difference!
Layering them around the basket gives the
focal point fullness and dimension.
