I have one more set of Paper Pumpkin alternatives to share with you for the June 2026 Bikes & Blooms Kit—and this time we're stepping away from cards and creating three fun 3D projects!
I love finding ways to stretch my Paper Pumpkin supplies beyond the traditional card projects, and these projects are a perfect example. Each project starts with just ONE Paper Pumpkin card base measuring 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"!
With a little scoring, cutting, and folding, you can turn that single card base into a:
π Gift Bag
π¦ Gift Box with Lid
π Tall Square Gift Bag
The best part is that these projects are perfect for using up your extra die cuts, greetings, envelope paper, and other leftover pieces from the kit.
What Makes These Projects Special?
One of my favorite things about these projects is that you don't need a full sheet of cardstock to make them!
We're starting with one standard Paper Pumpkin card base:
8-1/2" x 5-1/2"
Then we'll use our Paper Trimmer or Simply Scored Scoring Tool to transform that half sheet of cardstock into something completely different.
This is also a great project idea if you have extra Paper Pumpkin card bases left over after you've finished making your cards.

Let's start by making all three tags at the same time, since they have similar steps
Measurements
Pool Party Circle - 1-3/4"
Basic White - scraps for stamping
Old Olive - scrap for die cut leaves
Yellow Stripe Envelope (back)* - 2” x 3”
Pink Stripe Envelope (back)* - 2” x 3”
Green Stripe Envelope (back)* - 2” x 3”
Planter with Books on a Shelf Die Cut*
Blank Flower Die Cut*
Tag Assembly Instructions
1. Darken the lines on the Stripe Pattern Pieces
With a coordinating color Light Stampin’ Blend Marker color in between every other stripe to create a bold striped pattern or use the fine tip side and draw over each line to create a thin stripe pattern.
2. Greeting
Cut out three 1-3/4" Circle from the Stylish Shape Dies or punch in Pool Party Cardstock.
Stamp in Memento Black Ink your greeting in the center. I used “Have a Lovely Day”
3. Assemble the Yellow Tag
Add the Pool Party Greeting in the top half of the Yellow Stripe Tag with dimensionals.
Add the Planter with Books on a Shelf Die Cut to the bottom right area with dimensionals.
The Greeting and Die Cut can extend beyond the edges of the tag.
4. Assemble the Green Tag
Stamp the 4-Flower image in Old Olive ink across the bottom of the tag.
Add the Pool Party Greeting in the top half of the Green Stripe Tag with dimensionals.
Stamp the Bicycle in Pecan Pie ink on Basic White Cardstock and fussy cut out. Add the Bicycle to the bottom area with dimensionals.
The Greeting and Die Cut can extend beyond the edges of the tag.
5. Assemble the Pink Tag
Add the Pool Party Greeting in the center and off to the left of the Pink Stripe Tag with dimensionals.
Stamp the 4-Flower image in Calypso Coral on the Blank Flower Die Cut. Add it to the bottom right area of the greeting with dimensionals.
Cut out two Leaves from Old Olive Cardstock using the Detailed Flora Dies or another die or punch. Tuck them behind the flower.
The Greeting and Die Cust can extend beyond the edges of the tag.
Project #1 – Gift Bag
The first project is a sweet little gift bag that's perfect for a small gift, treat, gift card, or other little surprise.
I love how much personality you can add to such a small project by decorating it with the coordinating Bikes & Blooms pieces.
Measurements
Basic White - (2) 1" x 3" scored in half at 1/2"
Yellow Cardbase*
Yellow Stripe Tag
Linen Thread* - 10” or more
Bag Assembly Instructions
1. Score & Cut the Cardbase
Begin with one 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Paper Pumpkin card base.
Instead of folding it into a traditional card, we're going to score and cut it to create the structure of our gift bag.
Be sure to follow the scoring and cutting pattern shown in my video, or you can download an image here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tg3EdJpxKcPuRkyDIS5Orazz_86cWx2j/view?usp=sharing because the placement of each score line determines how the bag folds together.
Use your Paper Trimmer and scoring tool to create the folds needed to assemble the bag.
2. Stamp on the Bag
Stamp the 5-Flower image in Darling Duckling ink along the two inside score lines. Stamp them so they will be going the correct direction when the cardstock is folded into a bag.
3. Fold & Assemble
Fold along all of your score lines.
With this design you need to add tabs to the sides to connect them together. Use two 1” x 3” pieces of White Cardstock and score in half at 1/2". Use adhesive to secure it behind the 1/2" x 3-1/4" on the sides of the back panel.
Then fold up the bag, tuck the bottom flap inside and connect the white cardstock to the other 1/2" x 3-1/4" side.
Adhere the bottom flap to the inside of the bag with a glue dot.
Once the adhesive has set, gently open the bag and shape the sides. The sides of the bag will fold into the bag at the top, but not at the bottom.
4. Close & Decorate
Fold over the Top Flap to close the bag. To keep the bag closed and attach your tag, punch two holes vertically in the center. One near the top and one near the bottom of the flap.
String 10” to 12” of Linen Thread through the holes and tie together with a knot.
Add the Tag and tie a bow.
Project #2 – Tall Square Gift Bag
Next, we're turning another 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base into a Tall Square Gift Bag.
The taller shape makes it perfect for a small bottle, treats, candles, handmade gifts, or other taller items.
Measurements
Green Cardbase*
Green Stripe Tag
Pool Party Tissue Paper*
Bag Assembly Instructions
1. Score & Cut the Cardbase
Grab another 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base.
We'll score the cardstock in several places to create the four sides of the bag.
Be sure to follow the scoring and cutting pattern shown in my video, or you can download an image here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SeYheEQNrPanDTxSDKuoquQBsJp4uubn/view?usp=sharing because the placement of each score line determines how the bag folds together.
Use your Paper Trimmer and scoring tool to create the folds needed to assemble the bag.
2. Stamp on the Bag
Stamp the 5-Flower image in Old Olive ink along the Dark Stripe side. Stamp them so they will be going down the bag with the Dark Stripe at the top.
3. Fold & Assemble
Fold along all of your score lines.
With this design you will connect the square bag together with the 1/4" tab. Fold the bag in half at the 4-1/4" score line. Add adhesive to the 1/4" tab and tuck behind to secure it to the back of the other side.
Shape the bag into a square. Tuck the bottom flaps inside and adhere them together.
4. Decorate
Add the Green Tag to the front of the Bag with dimensionals. I placed it just below the dark strip.
If you have any of the Pool Party Tissue Paper that comes inside the kit each month you can use it inside the bag.
Project #3 – Gift Box with Lid
The third project is my Gift Box with Lid, and I think this one might be my favorite!
It's amazing how much you can create from one simple 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base.
This is such a fun way to package a small gift, candy, jewelry, or other tiny treasure.

Box Assembly Instructions
1. Score & Cut the Cardbase
Begin with one 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Paper Pumpkin card base and cut in half at 4-1/4" to create two 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" pieces.
For this project, we'll use a combination of scoring and strategic cuts to create the box bottom and lid.
Be sure to follow the scoring and cutting pattern shown in my video, or you can download an image here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Peilh28sihRMsyUOAa--hCENOIADdjaY/view?usp=sharing because the placement of each score line determines how the bag folds together.
Use your Paper Trimmer and scoring tool to create the folds needed to assemble the box.
2. Stamp on the Lid
Stamp the 4-Flower image in Calypso Coral ink along the left score line on the Top of the Box. Stamp them so they go all the way down the long side.
3. Fold & Assemble
Fold along all of your score lines.
Add adhesive to the appropriate tabs and carefully fold the box together. Make sure the corners of the box are at 90 degree angles and that the edges meet so you don’t have one side higher than the other.
Once the base is assembled, construct the lid the same way.
The result is a coordinating little box that opens and closes—perfect for a small gift!
The fit is tight, you may need to bend the bottom just a little to get it to fit the first time.
4. Decorate the Lid
Add the Pink Tag to the center of the Lid with dimensionals.
Coordinate these Gift Bag/Box with the Cards.
Imagine giving someone a small gift inside one of these cute Gift Bags or Box with a matching handmade card. π
Take a look at the alternative cards we made from this kit. I especially love how Cards #4 - #6 coordinate with these 3D projects. I love the similar design with the bold stripes and how the images work well together.
Watch the Video Tutorial
In my YouTube video, I'll walk you through all three projects step-by-step, including exactly where to score and cut each 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base so you can recreate them along with me.
Grab your Paper Trimmer, scoring tool, and a few Paper Pumpkin card bases, and let's turn those card bases into something completely unexpected!
