Creative Chelsey: A Beautiful Easel Card with the Bikes & Blooms June 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit

I'm excited to kick off my June 2026 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives with this fun and beautiful Easel Card!

The Bikes & Blooms Kit is full of bright colors, beautiful flowers, and fun bicycle images, and I wanted to create a card that really showed off all those details. This easel design gives you plenty of space to feature the bicycle and flower-filled basket while also creating a fun interactive card.

One of my favorite parts of this card is all of the small die-cut flowers and leaves. I used them to fill in the bicycle basket and create a full, overflowing garden of flowers. I also carried a few of those same flowers down onto the front of the card to help tie the whole design together.

How the Easel Card Works

When the card is closed, it looks like a traditional card and fits easily into an envelope.

When you open it, fold the front section backward along the score line and stand it upright.

The raised greeting and flowers on the bottom section act as the easel stopper, holding the front panel in place.

It's such a fun surprise when the recipient opens the card!

Card Assembly Instructions

1. Create the Easel Card Base

Start with the Pool Party cardbase and score with the 8-1/2" edge at the top of your Paper Trimmer at 4-1/4" and 2-1/8". Fold along the score lines so the bottom half of the front of the card folds back and create the easel mechanism.

Burnish the score line well with a Bone Folder so the card opens and stands easily.

2. Add the Background

Stamp the Butterfly Images in Lost Lagoon ink in the top corners on the front of the cardbase.

Splatter Lost Lagoon ink by adding some ink to the lid of the ink pad and mixing with water and a Water Painter. Tap the Water Painter over the cardstock with a Bone Folder. Let dry.

These little details help fill the background without taking attention away from the focal point.

Trim off the Green Flap from the Envelope. Add extra color to the curved edge with a Blending Brush and Old Olive ink. Trim the width down to 4-1/4" by cutting straight edges on both sides. Add to the bottom of the cardbase in the bottom right corner.

3. Build the Bicycle Focal Point

Adhere the Large Blue Bicycle Die Cut with dimensionals only to the bottom area of the card.

I love how the bicycle extends beyond the bottom area when open, giving the card a unique shape.

Trim off the Pink & Yellow Envelope Flaps. Then, cut 5 Pink & 5 Yellow Flower Groups using the die from the Wonderful Scene Dies Set. Add 4 Pink & 3 Yellow with glue dots, filling the basket on the bicycle.

Cut 12 Leaves from Old Olive Cardstock using the die from the Detailed Flora Dies (this die cut two at a time!) You will want to cut off the top stem part so you only see the leaves. Tuck 8 Leaves around and in between the flowers adhering them with glue dots.

Tip: Attach the small die cuts to the Mini Glue Dots on the roll so you don’t lose them. Take them off the roll when you are ready to use them.

Don't be afraid to overlap the pieces. The basket looks much more full and dimensional when the flowers are layered instead of simply placed side-by-side.

This is where the card really starts to come to life!

4. Add the Sentiment

Trim off the folded edges of the Yellow Stripe Envelope. From the back cut a 1/2" x 3” strip with the stripes running vertical.

Use the Light Darling Duckling Blend Marker to color in every other stripe. Cut the left side at an angle. Layer across the basket with the straight edge matching the cardbase. Use dimensionals, you may need to stack two dimensionals together on the left of the basket.

Cut the Flagged Label in half lengthwise and stamp "Best Wishes" in black ink. Trim the ends to the same angle. Add a Faux Bow to the left side with 8” of Linen Thread. Layer it in the center & below the Yellow Stripe Strip.

Tuck one Yellow Flower Group between the greeting and the strip. Add two sets of Leaves.

The key to an easel card is having a raised element on the bottom portion of the card to act as a stopper. This is what allows the front of the card to stand upright instead of simply falling flat.

5. Inside

Stamp the Butterflies in Lost Lagoon ink on the left and right sides about 1” from the top or bottom.

Stamp “Have a Lovely Day” in Black ink in the bottom right corner of the 2-3/4" x 4” Basic White piece. Adhere this to the center with dimensionals.

Add one Yellow & one Pink Flower Grouping around the greeting. Tuck in two sets of Leaves.

6. Add the Finishing Touches

You can use the Butterflies in the kit as embellishments or find something you have already. I used between 6-7 sequins on the front of the card, around the greeting and throughout the flowers.

I also added 3 sequins to the inside of the card.

I love how these little accents add a touch of sparkle without competing with all of the beautiful colors in the flower basket.

If you want, take a moment to fluff up the flowers and leaves so that some sit higher than others. This gives the basket a natural, overflowing look.
