Simple & Bold Easy Switch Up - An Alternative Card Idea using the October 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Today I begin sharing beautiful Christmas themed Alternate Card Ideas you can make with supplies from the October 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Cozy Christmas.

The cards in this kit are quick and simple with Christmas themed images and colors. The kit makes a total of 9 cards 3 of three different designs with coordinating envelopes.

I have made a lot of alternatives, 8 to be exact with the contents to create one set of the original cards. I have created a template showing how to cut the cardbases and envelope, plus the measurements for the extra cardstock pieces for each alternative and you can find the link to download this cutting template here -

For my first alternative I wanted to create a simple but bold card with the large Joy Die Cut. I included some blending on the background pattern paper to give a slight glowing effect to the card. I love how it turned out.

If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and make the original cards visit this playlist -

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below.

I also want to mention the amazing perks you can receive when you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me as your demonstrator. With every Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set & Ink Spot sent, I design a card and mail out my very own card kit to my subscribers so they can make two of my exclusive card design. These cards so fun and show new ways to use stamps & ink. We also meet once each month to make the card together, chat & have fun.

*PLUS I have joined with other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators to design 7-10 more alternative ideas in a PDF Tutorial (includes photos & instructions). My subscribers receive this PDF Tutorial along with an Exclusively Designed Card Kit, all for FREE! If you would also like to receive this extra perk, sign up for paper pumpkin using the link below and make sure to select me as your demonstrator.

Red JOY Letter Die Cuts KIT

1- Make sure to use the Cutting Guide (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mAji1pYr_nlLOa1tyCgBiMo9gV6MuyvS/view?usp=sharing) to cut your pattern paper to the right size from the cardbases in the kit.

2- Blend around the pattern cardbase piece with Garden Green ink. Make sure to only blend around the outside edge giving a slight glowing effect to the card.

3- Remove the Red Velvet Flowers from the White Joy Die Cut piece. Make sure to keep the shape of the J & Y.

4- Add the Red J – O – Y pieces to the top of the White JOY piece with dimensionals. Add a little Wink of Stella to the top of the Red letters.

5- Stamp “To The World” in Pecan Pie ink on the bottom of the JOY.

6- Remove 3 Christmas Tree sections from the Row of 5. And tuck under on the left side below the To The World greeting. You should see most of the tree shape.

7- Fussy cut out two of the small circle snowflake green velvet details from the Large Ornament Die Cut and add to the center of the Red Velvet Snowflake Flowers you removed from the White Joy piece. Then tuck the Red Velvet Snowflake Flowers on the Left and Right side at the bottom of the greeting. Tuck them so you don’t see the cut out section of each.

8- Add the White JOY piece to the card with dimensionals. I added it a little above center giving more space at the bottom for the smaller details. Add the ¼” Brown Strip between the greeting and the Green Tree Velvet details, trim the ends at an angle.

9- Tie a bow with 10” of Gold Baker’s Twine – or something similar. And add on the left side of the greeting.

10- Add the Basic White piece to the inside if you want.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step.
