It is time for another tutorial for the Global Stampin’ Video Hop on YouTube. Each month on the fourth Friday Stampin’ Up Demonstrators from around the world come together and share their projects based on a monthly theme. February’s Theme is FLORAL.
I love flowers and was really drawn to the beautiful hand drawn images in the Mixed Florals Bundle. There are so many different ways you can color these images, but I thought it would be fun to try Paper Piecing and loved how it turned out. Stick around to see my tips & tricks to using this fun technique on your next project.
I hope you are inspired today as you see all the Projects from everyone while jumping from video to video. If you are inspired to make a project from something you see today please share it with us, we would love to see what you come up with. You can tag me @creativechelsey in any social media post.

Pool Party Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Basic White Cardstock – 4” x 5 ¼” & scraps
1- Stamp the large floral image in Memento Black ink on the 4” x 5 ¼” Basic White piece. I placed the image to the far right and used a Stamp Positioning Tool – like the retired Stamparatus to get a perfect image.
2- Stamp the same image on coordinating pattern papers, I used the Unbounded Beauty DSP in Shy Shamrock, Pretty In Pink & Petunia Pop keeping the patterns simple.
Here are some tips:
Make sure to cut right on the line – this will make it so
the images line up perfectly with one another.
Make sure to cut out any “holes” in the image created
between the leaves. You can create a seam by cutting through an image along a
line to get to the “hole”. Make sure to keep the leaves together.
Don’t forget about the stems.
You can cut through the flowers. You will be layering the
Pretty in Pink or Petunia Pop flowers on top.
4- Fussy cut out the Tulips from the Pretty In Pink Pattern. Adhere to the stamped image layering over the leaves.
5- Fussy cut out the Small Flowers from the Petunia Pop Pattern. Adhere to the stamped image.
Here are some tips:
Add each one right after you cut it out. They are so small
they can easily be lost in the scraps.
Use a small dot of glue on the Basic White Cardstock and your
Take-A-Pick Tool to add in place.
6- Cut ¾” x 5 ¼” Strip from Pretty In Pink & Petunia Pop Patterns. Layer one over the other with about ¼” showing. Add to the left side of the 4” x 5 ¼” Basic White piece. You can tuck it under any Shy Shamrock leaves if you can.
7- Add everything to the Pool Party Cardbase.
8- Stamp a Greeting in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock and cut out with a coordainting die. I used one from the Around It All Dies. Add to your card with a dimensional.
9- Add 3-5 Embellishments. I used the retired Iridescent Rhinestones.
All Done!
