Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Today I begin sharing fun Alternate Card Ideas you can make with supplies from the February 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Hello Spring.
The cards this month are perfect for Spring, with images of Herbs and soft blues, greens & pinks.
I am starting this week with two alternate card ideas made from one cardbase in the kit. I love how they both have a pop of pink. They are quick and easy to put together with just a couple tips & tricks I want to share.
If you would like to watch me unbox the kit
and make the original cards visit this playlist - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNn3uZadkWjCmO0DXa_N2BHf
Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog – www.creativechelsey.com

Card #1
Lost Lagoon Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Blue Cardbase – Kit
Envelope – Kit
Chives Ticket – Kit
Linen Thread – 10”
1- Cut the Blue Cardbase from the kit to 4” x 5 ¼”. Add to the left of the Lost Laboon Cardbase with even border on the top & bottom.
2- Cut the folded edges of the Envelope to separate the front from the back. On the back trim off ¼” from the bottom edge (opposite from the angle edge). Then trim a ½” strip from the same side. Cut each end of the strip at an angle.
4- Add the ½” Green Envelope Strip to the Basic Beige Large Angled Piece about ¼” from the bottom. Stamp your greeting in Early Espresso Ink above the Green Strip as far to the right as you can. Add this to the cardbase with dimensionals so the left edge sits along the folded edge.
5- Stamp the Chives Flower in Petunia Pop on the Chives Ticket Piece then stamp again to get a lighter color (this is called 2nd Generation Stamping). Repeat.
6- Then stamp one Chives Flower in Petunia Pop on the scrap leftover from the Die Cuts in the kit. If you want you can stamp a third 2nd Generation image on the Chives Ticket Piece. Die Cut or Fussy Cut out the Chives Flower and add it with a rolled up piece of Tear & Tape to give it a little dimension to the Chives Ticket Piece.
Add everything to the left of the greeting with dimensionals at the top and tear & tape at the bottom.
7- Tie a bow with 10” of Linen Thread and attach near the greeting with a small glue dot.
All Done!
Card #2
Lost Lagoon Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Petunia Pop Cardstock – ½” x 5 ½”
Basic White Cardstock – ½” x 5 ½”
Blue Cardbase – Kit
Large Basic Beige Label – Kit
Three Herb Die Cuts (Mint, Thyme, Rosemary) – Kit
Circle Label - Kit
Linen Thread – 12”
1- Cut from the Blue Cardbase Scraps a 3” x 5 ½” piece. Adhere the strip of Petunia Pop to the bottom edge with about 1/8” showing. Add the Basic White strip under that with about ¼” showing. Add everything to the Lost Lagoon Cardbase with about ½” border at the top.
2- Add the Large Basic Beige Label to the center of the Blue Cardbase piece with dimensionals.
3- Add the Mint Die Cut with dimensionals to the center and tuck the Thyme and Rosemary to the left & right with Tear & Tape.
4- Create a Faux Bow with 12” of Linen Thread on the left side of the Mint Die Cut.
5- Stamp your greeting in Petunia Pop on the Circle Label
and add over the Faux Bow with a dimensional.
All Done!
