Alternative Idea for a Message In A Bottle Handmade Card - July 2022 Paper Pumpkin Paper Craft Kit

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my second alternative idea using the July 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Sending Good Thoughts.

This kit comes with everything you need to make 9 Handmade Cards, 3 in three different designs. This kit has a fun nautical feeling to it. I love the stamps & die cut images. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative cards. Today I am sharing my Message in a Bottle version. I love creating alternative projects with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more as I continue to create with this month’s kit.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

1- Cut the scallop embossed piece in half at 2 5/8”. Cut an envelope to 2” x 4 ¼”.

2- Stamp with the net pattern in Fresh Freesia in three areas on the cardbase. Use a rock & roll technique to get different amounts on ink from the stamp – see video. Stamp the starfish or seahorse in Fresh Freesia around the net texture.

3- Add one of the scallop embossed halves about 1”- 1 ½” from the bottom. Tear the top and bottom of the envelope piece. Roll up the top and bottom to create a scroll look. Add to the left side of the cardbase.

4- Stamp the scroll image inside the small bottle. I used Basic Gray ink. Adhere to the center of the envelope piece with dimensionals.

5- Stamp the seaweed image in Bermuda Bay on Basic White Cardstock. Ink and stamp the first, then don’t reink and and stamp a second time to get a lighter color. I used three images. Fussy cut out and add on the left and right sides of the bottle with dimensionals.

6- Add the Red Seahorse Die Cut to the left. Stamp the greeting on the Small Greeting Tag. Add under the bottle and seaweed with dimensionals.

7- Tie a bow with 10” of Linen Thread through the hole on the greeting tag. Add 3-5 sequins.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step and some of the details from the other cards:
