Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey! I’m so excited to start sharing my alternative card ideas using the February 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Celebrate Spring.
This kit is full of soft spring colors, fun easter die cuts, and cheerful florals that are perfect for celebrating the spring season. The images in this kit are absolutely adorable, and I couldn’t wait to start creating different layouts using the elements included.
For my first alternative card, I
created a layered garden scene featuring the flowers from the kit and some
die-cut tulips from the coordinating Beautiful Blooms Dies. I love how the
flowers feel like they’re growing up from the sentiment banner—it really gives
the card a fresh springtime feel!
The soft patterned background and layered flowers give the card depth while still keeping the design simple and easy to recreate.

Card Assembly Instructions
1. Create the Card Base
Adhere the Orange Pattern with Light Pink Oval piece to the center of the cardbase. Add the Peach Pie strip about 1-1/2" from the bottom of the card.
2. Build the Flower Garden
Cut 2 Leaves (Beautiful Blooms Dies) from Granny Apple Green Cardstock. Add them to the center of the card with the bottom of the stem touching the top of the Peach Pie strip.
Cut 4 Leaves in Shy Shamrock Cardstock.
Add across the card with the bottom of the stems below the top edge of the
Peach Pie strip with dimensionals.
Cut 2 Tulips from Pretty In Pink & 1 from Peach Pie. Layer the smaller piece in the center and curl the top with a Bone Folder and add to the tops of three Leaves.
Arrange the 5 Yellow & Orange Flowers from the kit with dimensionals.
3. Add the Sentiment Banner
Stamp the greeting “Spring” onto the Pretty In Pink strip in Melon Mambo ink. Then stamp “Hello” in front. Attach the strip about 1/4" below the Peach Pie strip with dimensionals.
TIP: only ink the greeting you want to
stamp, if you have to ink another part of the stamp, use Tape to cover it
before you stamp on the cardstock. See video tutorial below.
4. Finish with Twine
Use 20” of White Baker’s Twine to tie a double bow. Add it to the left of the greeting with a glue dot.
Written Steps for Tying a Double-Bow
(see video for visual instruction):
Find the center of the Twine and hold it
with your Thumb and Middle Finger.
With one end – Wrap around the closest
finger, then WEAVE it in front of your Middle Finger and around the other
finger and then back to the front of the Middle Finger – hold with your Thumb.
With the other end – repeat the same
process, starting with the closest finger, WEAVE around the Middle Finger,
around the other finger and back to the front of the Middle Finger – hold with
your Thumb.
With the second strand, tuck under the
strings between your fingers, so you have one strand in the front and one in
the back.
Remove your Middle Finger and tie a
double knot with the two ends in the center of the Loops.
Why I Love This Card
This design feels like the perfect way to
welcome spring. The layered tulips and flowers create a mini garden scene,
and the bright colors instantly make the card feel cheerful and uplifting.
It’s also a great example of how you can
take the pieces from the Paper Pumpkin kit and rearrange them into something
completely new.
Watch the Video Tutorial
I’ve also created a video tutorial
showing exactly how this card comes together. If you’d like to see the layering
and placement of the flowers step-by-step, be sure to check out the video!
