The Easiest Way to Use Your Paper Pumpkin Kit | Hello Friend Alternative | February 2026 – Celebrate Spring

Welcome back to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey! Today I’m sharing my second alternative card idea using the February 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Celebrate Spring.

This kit is full of soft spring colors and sweet floral images, and for this card I wanted to create something that feels light, fresh, and perfect for sending a little happy mail to a friend.

The soft mint background with the delicate floral frame already included in the kit makes the perfect backdrop for a simple layered design. By adding a few banner pieces and some twine, the card comes together quickly while still having lots of dimension and interest.

This design is a great example of how you can let the printed design from the kit do most of the work, while still creating something that feels unique.

Measurements

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 4-1/4” x 11” scored at 5-1/2”

Light Teal Front Cardbase – 4” x 5-1/4”

Balmy Blue Cardstock – 5/8” strip

Shy Shamrock Cardstock – 1” strip

(1) Pink Flower Die Cut*

White Baker’s Twine (2) 10”

Adhesive, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Card Assembly Instructions

1. Create the Card Base
Cut the front of the cardbase to 4” x 5-1/4". Cut a 2” x 2” Square from the center of the white space. I used a die from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Add the frame to the front of the cardbase.

2. Add the Banner Pieces
Cut from coordinating cardstock two Banners. On the Shy Shamrock Cardstock I cut a 1” x 3-1/2" banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Adhere it to the center of the card in the middle of the opening.

With the Balmy Blue Cardstock I cut a 1/2" x 2-3/4" banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Cut the banner in half so you can make it longer. Add each end in the center of the Shy Shamrock banner extending a little beyond.

3. Stamp the Greeting
Stamp the “Hello Friend” in the center of the 2” square with Shy Shamrock Ink. Add over the opening with dimensionals.

4. Add the Flower Accent
Attach the small flower die cut near the sentiment using dimensionals.

5. Add Twine for Texture
Wrap 10” of PinkBaker’s Twine around your fingers and secure it with a glue dot behind the sentiment to create a half bow look in the bottom left corner.

Repeat and add the second one to the top right corner.

Why I Love This Card

This card is a great reminder that sometimes simple layouts are the most beautiful. The printed floral design on the card base creates a soft frame that makes the sentiment stand out, and the layered banners add just the right amount of dimension.

It’s the perfect card to send to a friend just to brighten their day.
