Make Your Own Shadow Tree Focal Point - May 2025 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card Ideas - Stampin' Up!

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Today I am sharing another beautiful set of alternatives cards ideas you can make with supplies from the May 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Mountain Majesties.

The cards in this kit have beautiful mountain scenes. The kit makes a total of 9 cards 3 of three different designs with coordinating envelopes.

For my fourth set of alternatives I am showing two cards you can make with the envelopes from the kit. I also wanted to try my hand at making my own Shadow Tree for the focal point on one of my cards. I love how easy it is to add this element giving you more options for designing.

If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and make the original cards visit this playlist -  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNn5ahdYBdt92pbTIg2OGPFb

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog – www.creativechelsey.com

I also want to mention the amazing perks you can receive when you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me as your demonstrator. With every Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set & Ink Spot sent, I design a card and mail out my very own card kit to my subscribers so they can make two of my exclusive card design. These cards so fun and show new ways to use stamps & ink. We also meet once each month to make the card together, chat & have fun.

*PLUS I have joined with other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators to design 7-10 more alternative ideas in a PDF Tutorial (includes photos & instructions). My subscribers receive this PDF Tutorial along with an Exclusively Designed Card Kit, all for FREE! If you would also like to receive this extra perk, sign up for paper pumpkin using the link below and make sure to select me as your demonstrator.

Shadow Tree Card

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Basic White Cardstock – scraps for tree & label

Smoky Slate Cardstock – scrap for greeting

Lost Lagoon Envelope – Kit

Large Mountain and Trees Die Cut – Kit

1- Begin by trimming off the folded edges from the Lost Lagoon Envelope. This will give you two pieces – the front and back. For this card we will be using the back piece. Trim off the double layered pieces so the middle section is 4-1/8”. Add this to the top of the cardbase with a small border around the left, top & right sides. The curved edge will be hidden under the mountain & tree die cut.

2- Trim the Mountain and Tree Die Cut down to 4-1/8”. Then add it to the bottom half of the cardbase with adhesive along the bottom edge only.

3- Stamp the Bird Images in Misty Moonlight in the sky above the mountains. Then add some dimensionals under the mountains to make them pop.

4- Cut out a Label using the Hugs Abloom Dies from Basic White Cardstock. Add this to the center of the Mountains where they meet the water.

5- With a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker create your own Shadow Tree. Start with a small point at the top and then gradually move straight down making uneven branches coming from the “trunk”. You will want something tall and skinny about 3 ½” tall by 2” at the widest part. Fussy cut out. Add to the right side of the card over lapping the right of the Label.

6- Stamp your greeting in Memento Black Ink on Smoky Slate Cardstock and trim down to fit. Add to the center of the White Label.

7- Add 3-5 Basic Rhinestones.

All Done!

Basic White Cardstock – 1” x 2”

Misty Moonlight Envelope – Kit

Large Tree Die – Kit

Blue & Black Hill Die – Kit

1- Begin by trimming off the folded edges from the Misty Moonlight Envelope. This will give you two pieces – the front and back. For this card we will be using the front piece. Trim to 4” x 5 ¼”.

2- Splatter with Misty Moonlight Ink. You can use a Stampin’ Write Marker or Add this to the top of the cardbase with an even border around the sides.

3- Trim the Blue & Black Hill Die Cut to 4” and adhere along the bottom of the Envelope Paper with the adhesive along the bottom edge only.

4- Tuck the Large Tree Die Cut under the Blue & Black Hills on the left, with dimensionals at the top and liquid adhesive along the bottom.

5- Stamp your greeting in Misty Moonlight on the 1” x 2” Basic White piece. Add adhesive to the back. Wrap White Baker’s Twine around your hand a couple times. Cut and separate the strands. Create a couple loops with each stand and adhere them to the back of the greeting. Add the greeting to the right area near the trees with dimensionals.
