New Double Cutting Technique with Majestic Mtn Dies & Everyday Label Punch | Mountain Air Stamp Set

I love to come up with new and fresh ways to use the products I have and one fun tutorial I like to do is double cutting. Where I use 2 cutting materials that are usually used separately and combine them to create a unique piece. I have done this mostly with dies, but today I wanted to see if I could combine a punch and die together. Here is the finished card with the main element being made in just that way. I hope you enjoy this video. Please let me know if you have any questions about this new technique.

I would love to see your finished creations that are inspired by this tutorial! You can tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com

1- On the strip of Whisper White Cardstock stamp the mountain range near the bottom in Mossy Meadow ink. Stamp your greeting (make sure it fits in your punch) in Memento Black ink along the top of the mountain range.
2- Measure your punch at the widest area, the everyday punch is about 2 3/8” wide. Round down if needed. Take that measurement and place it over the greeting where you want the punch to go. Make markings near the top of the cardstock.
3- Use a paper trimmer and cut straight down from the marks to the mountain image.
4- Place the coordinating die over the mountain image and secure with a little tape. Using the partial die cutting method cut only the left and right area from the marks/cut lines. Cut the bottom as well. You do this by covering the area you want cut with the top cutting plate and leaving the area you want uncut uncovered. See the below video.
5- Turn the Everyday Label punch over and slide the top of the cardstock punch area into the top of the punch leaving the mountains outside of the punch. If needed, place a scrap piece of paper inside the punch like normal, then slide in the cardstock the area to be punched, remove the scrap paper. This helps guide the cardstock. See the below video. Line up and punch. Trim any areas you want to remove. I took off the half circles to make a clean line down to the mountains.
6- To finish the card – Cut out 6 pine tree dies, 3 – Mossy Meadow, 2 – Old Olive, 1 – Pear Pizzazz. Add them to the card front (not the cardbase) so the tops are staggered and arrange the colors to be pleasing to you. Trim any overhang from the sides.
7- Add 3 strips of Braided Burlap Trim across the bottom of the card front with liquid glue.
8- Add the Mountains & Label piece between the trees and burlap trim with dimensionals. Trim any overhang from the sides. Add the card front to the cardbase with dimensionals. Color 3 rhinestones with the Dark Old Olive Stampin’ Blend Marker and add around the greeting.

All Done!
