Welcome back to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey! Today I’m sharing my tenth and final alternative card using the July 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit, Hooray for Birthdays. I have had so much fun stretching this kit and finding ways to use the supplies in new ways.
In fact, I was able to create 10 alternative cards from one set of Paper Pumpkin supplies! If you haven’t seen them all make sure to check them all out.
For this final card, I used the front and
back pieces of one of the oval envelopes, added some Hydrangea Hue blending
and stamping, and even stamped and fussy cut my own flowers instead of
relying only on the die-cut pieces. I love that this card doesn't require a lot
of extra cardstock and is a great way to use up those last scraps and leftover
pieces from the kit.

Card Assembly Instructions
1. Blend Hydrangea Hue onto the envelope
Start with the oval envelope from the
July Paper Pumpkin kit. Separate the front from the back.
For this card, you'll use the front of
the envelope as the main background layer and the back
Using a Blending Brush and Hydrangea
Hue Ink, pick up some ink and tap off the excess.
Begin blending in the center of the
oval design on the envelope front. Concentrate the darker ink in the middle
of the oval so the embossed edge really stands out.
You can add additional ink around the
rest of the piece, but keep the center of the oval as the main focal point.
Once you have the amount of blending you
want, use a paper towel to gently wipe the ink from the embossed detail
around the oval.
This removes the ink sitting on top of
the embossed area and allows the lighter detail to pop.
2. Stamp the full-strength daisies
Using Hydrangea Hue Ink, stamp the
daisy image at full strength across the envelope piece.
Scatter the flowers around the
background, keeping in mind that you'll be trimming the piece down later.
3. Stamp the second flower using the stamp-off technique
For the other flower image, use the stamp-off
technique.
First, ink the stamp with Hydrangea Hue
Ink and stamp it onto a piece of scrap paper. Then stamp the lighter image onto
the envelope.
This creates a softer version of the same
color and adds another layer of texture without introducing another ink color.
Continue stamping the lighter flowers
around the background, including over some of the blended area.
4. Add Hydrangea Hue splatters
Use a Hydrangea Hue Stampin' Blend
Marker to add splatters to the envelope background.
This gives the background additional texture while keeping everything within the same color family.
5. Add water splatters
Now add a second type of splatter using water.
Put a little water on a small paintbrush
and remove some of the excess. Then gently tap the brush over the blended
envelope piece.
Allow the water to sit for a moment. The
water will pull up some of the Hydrangea Hue ink and create lighter, almost
white-looking spots within the blended area.
Once you have the look you want, allow
the piece to dry.
6. Trim the envelope background
Trim the blended and stamped oval
envelope piece to 3¾" × 5".
The original piece is larger than you
need, so trim approximately ¼" from the sides as you work toward the
finished measurement.
You can center the oval, or position it
slightly higher or lower. I chose to position mine a little higher, leaving a
bit more space toward the bottom.
Adhere to the center of the cardbase with
dimensionals
7. Stamp flowers & leaves onto the back of the envelope
Turn to the back piece of the oval
envelope. This piece will become your custom floral embellishments.
Using Melon Mambo Ink, stamp three
daisies.
Then stamp three additional flowers in
yellow ink.
Stamp three of the smaller leaf stems
and three of the larger leaf stems onto the envelope piece in Old
Olive ink.
You can also use all six of one leaf
style if you prefer.
Use Timid Tiger Ink to stamp the
circles that will become the flower centers.
●
Use the smaller circle for
the daisies.
●
Use the larger circle for
the yellow flowers.
This gives each flower a coordinating
center while adding a little contrast.
8. Fussy cut the flowers and leaves
Carefully fussy cut all of the flowers
and leaves.
When cutting the leaves, remove the stems
but keep the pairs of leaves together when possible.
The envelope paper is thin, which makes it surprisingly easy to fussy cut.
9. Prepare the greeting
Instead of cutting another strip from the
envelope, use one of the extra labels from the Paper Pumpkin kit.
Stamp “Hugs & Wishes” in Timid
Tiger Ink.
If your first impression isn't straight,
simply turn the label over and stamp again on the other side!
Add Dimensionals to the back of
the greeting label. Adhere “Hugs & Wishes” greeting toward the right
side of the oval.
10. Create the floral arrangement
Begin adding the flowers using Dimensionals.
Arrange the flowers in two loose
triangular groupings:
●
Create one triangle using the three
yellow flowers.
●
Create another triangle using the three
Melon Mambo flowers.
Don't worry about making the arrangement
perfectly symmetrical. Move the flowers around until you like the balance.
11. Add the leaves
Tuck the fussy-cut leaf pairs around the
flowers.
Because you kept some of the leaves
together, you can easily tuck them into different areas of the floral
arrangement.
Use Dimensionals to give the
flowers and leaves additional dimension. You can also gently pop up some of the
flower petals for even more depth.
The fussy cutting takes the most time,
but once your pieces are ready, the card comes together very quickly!
12. Add the Hydrangea Hue embellishments
Finish the card with three Hydrangea
Hue In Color Dots.
Place them around the floral arrangement
wherever you think they look best.
You could also substitute Sunset
Sequins or another embellishment if you have them available.

Be sure to watch my YouTube tutorial for the full step-by-step process.
I'll show you how I blend the Hydrangea Hue ink onto the envelope, create the
two different splatter techniques, stamp and fussy cut the flowers and leaves,
and arrange all of the pieces on the finished card.
This final design is a great reminder
that you don't have to stop when you've made the cards the kit was designed
for. With a little creativity, you can use those leftover pieces and stamps to
create even more cards from your Paper Pumpkin kit!
