Layered Florals & a Big Birthday Wish! | July 2026 Paper Pumpkin Alternative - Stampin' Up!

 For my fourth alternative card using the July 2026 Hooray for Birthdays Paper Pumpkin Kit, I wanted to create a card that really showcased the beautiful floral pieces from the kit. This design starts with a Hydrangea Hue card base that I dressed up with a little white splatter for added texture.

Misty Moonlight Cardbase - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4"

Soft Sea Foam Cardstock - 2-1/4" x 3"

Blue Cardbase with Blue Grid* - 2-3/4" x 4-1/4"

Envelope Back* - Three 7/8" Circles

Envelope Flap* - 3/8" Strip

Card Assembly Instructions

1. Add white splatter

Place the Misty Moonlight card base on a protected work surface.

Mix a small amount of White Craft Ink with Water until it is thin enough to splatter. Use a water painter or similar tool to flick the white paint over the front of the card base.

Allow the splatter to dry completely before continuing.

2. Create the scalloped edge

Cut three 7/8" circles from an Envelope Back in half.

Adhere the half-circles along the bottom edge of the Blue Cardbase with Blue Grid piece so they overlap slightly and create a continuous scalloped border.

Add this layer to the center of the cardbase.

3. Stamp the Soft Sea Foam Piece

Using Soft Sea Foam Ink, stamp hugs & wishes repeatedly down the Soft Sea Foam Cardstock piece to create the subtle tone-on-tone background.

Flag the bottom edge into a banner shape.

Add it to the left and above the Blue Grid layer.

4. Add the large birthday sentiment

Place the large black birthday sticker die-cut across the center of the Blue Grid layer.

5. Build the floral arrangement

Now create the layered floral cluster in the upper-left area of the Soft Sea Foam layer.

Start with the large dark pink flower with dimensionals.

Add the smaller flowers around it layering the pieces to create dimension.

Add the coordinating flower yellow sticker centers.

Tuck several leaves from the leftover row of stems around and behind the flowers to fill in the arrangement.

6. Add the small wishes greeting

Stamp “wishes” onto a narrow 3/8" strip from an Envelope Flap using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Trim the strip so it is just large enough for the word.

Place it underneath the right side of the large birthday sentiment.

7. Add the finishing embellishments

Add a few of the blue Sunset Sequins around the floral arrangement and across the card front.
