Finger-Wrapping Double Bow Technique December 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit Watercolor In Bloom - Stampin’ Up!

Today I’m excited to share a beautiful alternative card made with contents from the December 2025 Watercolor In Bloom Paper Pumpkin Kit. This Thank You Card combines soft watercolor layers, leafy accents, and a textured banner creates the feeling of both elegant and heartfelt.

I especially love how this card looks a little fancy, but is actually very easy to put together—perfect for using up leftover kit pieces!

How to Make This Card

1. Cut Envelope

Cut off the bottom design at 2” from the envelope. Trim to 4-1/4".

Add to the bottom of the cardbase.

2. Cut the Blue to Green Watercolor Cardbase

Trim a 1/4" x 4-1/4" strip from the Blue area of the piece.

Add the remaining 4” x 4-1/4" to the top of the cardbase.

3. Make the Pocket Front

Emboss the Cloud Cover Cardstock with any embossing folder. I used the Soft Waves Folder and flipped it to the back pattern.

Cut the bottom edge into a banner shape.

4. Add the Vellum

Add the Vellum to the top of the Cloud Cover piece with a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive.

5. Add the Leaf Layer

Fussy cut along the top edge of the Leaf Pattern on the Envelope scraps. Add them using the Tear & Tape already on the Vellum to the right and left. Matching the straight edges to the vellum.

Add the Small Leaf Die Cut to the center to cover any gap.

6. Add the Sentiment

Stamp Thank You sentiment in Night of Navy to the leftover half Oval Label.

Adhere it with the straight edge meeting the top, right side of the Cloud Cover piece using dimensionals.

Add the Blue 1/4" strip over the seam between the Cloud Cover & Leaf Pattern pieces with dimensionals to the left of the greeting and glue over the greeting label.

Trim the ends to an angle.

Add the Banner to the center of the cardbase with adhesive.

7. Embellish

With 16” of Baker’s Twine create a Double Bow by wrapping the twine around your fingers. Then adhere it with a glue dot to the left of the greeting over the Blue Strip.

Written Steps for Tying a Double-Bow (see video for visual instruction):

Find the center of the Twine and hold it with your Thumb and Middle Finger.

With one end – Wrap around the closest finger, then WEAVE it in front of your Middle Finger and around the other finger and then back to the front of the Middle Finger – hold with your Thumb.

With the other end – repeat the same process, starting with the closest finger, WEAVE around the Middle Finger, around the other finger and back to the front of the Middle Finger – hold with your Thumb.

With the second strand, tuck under the strings between your fingers, so you have one strand in the front and one in the back.

Remove your Middle Finger and tie a double knot with the two ends in the center of the Loops.

Add 3-5 Blue Faceted Snowflake Embellishments.
