Two Ways to Add Texture with Die Cuts! April 2025 Inked Occasions Paper Pumpkin Kit Alternative Card

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Thanks for joining me today as I continue to share some beautiful card ideas you can make with the April 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Inked Occasions.

The cards in this kit are beautiful with blended alcohol ink and gold foil accents. They are perfect for an occasion.

This is the fourth alternative card idea I will be sharing with you this week. I will be using the flower die from the coordinating Hugs Abloom Add on Die Set to add texture to my cards in two different ways. I love how this card came together and am excited to share it with you.

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Basic White Cardstock – scraps

Gold Foil – ¼” x 4 ¼” & scrap

Brass Butterflies – 3

Alcohol Ink along top & bottom Cardbase – Kit

1- Add the ¼” Gold Foil strip to the bottom of the cardbase.

2- Add Adhesive Sheet to the back of the last piece 2 ¼” x 4 ¼” left over from the Alcohol Ink along top & bottom Cardbase.

3- Carefully EMBOSS this piece with the Flower Die inside the color area. To emboss instead of cut I used Platform 1 & 3, then the paper and die, with Platform 4 on top. This should not have them same amount of pressure as when you regularly cut with dies. Keeping the flower together inside the cardstock instead of fully removing it.

4- Repeat 3 more times to get a total of 4 flowers across the bottom.

5- CUT another layer of flowers on top inside the white area. Some may have color on them & some will not be full flowers. Remove the inside petal pieces. I also cut 4 across the top.

6- Cut between these flowers so you remove the top straight edge making the Die Cut flowers the edge of the piece.

7- Remove the Adhesive Sheet from the back and carefully add the EMBOSSED area along the top edge of the Gold Foil.

If the flowers come out that is okay you can add them back in after the background piece is in place. Like a Puzzle. See video.

8- Add the CUT flowers back into their spaces. If they are not full size flowers add it to the top of a flower cut from Basic White Cardstock (with adhesive sheet) before putting it back into place.

9- Cut three more flowers and add them near the top in a triangle shape.

10- Cut a Label from Basic White Cardstock and add in the space between the White Flowers and Color Flowers with dimensionals.

11- Cut HUGS from Gold Foil Sheet (with Adhesive Sheet on the back). Add to the Label. Stamp your greeting on a strip of Basic White Cardstock 5/16” wide with Berry Burst ink. Trim to fit. Add below Hugs with dimensionals.

12- Add 3 Brass Butterflies or other embellishments. If you want you can round the top right corner of the card. Make sure to do the front & back separately.
