Just The Scraps - Fun Ways To Use Them On Cards - August 2023 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Ideas

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey.

The Paper Pumpkin kit comes with a set of supplies to make specific cards, but don't hesitate to mix and match the cardbases, envelopes, or die cut pieces or with your existing crafting stash. Find new ways to use the patterned papers, stamps, and embellishments that complement one another. This allows you to infuse a unique personality into each card you create.

Today I am sharing with you cards that use up the leftover scraps I had after making my previous alternative cards. By mixing and matching them I have created two beautiful cards. They are both simple and quick. I hope you like them.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com.

It is Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. This is the second set of alternative this week. If you would like to see all my alternatives check out the playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNkLqDrpW75OZzCIZFlBTzWk

Card #1

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Basic White Cardstock – 2 5/8” x 4”

Back of One of each Envelope – Kit

Leftover scrap from the Forget-Me-Not Pattern – Kit

Linen Thread – 20”

1- Cut the back of the envelopes from each pattern to 4 1/8” leaving the curve on top.

2- Adhere the blue to the top of the cardbase with the curve at the bottom.

3- Place the green piece at the bottom of the cardbase, you can choose how much to show. Measure and cut off excess. I removed 1”.

4- Add adhesive to the back of the green piece near the top on both sides. Take 20” of Linen Thread and add one end to the adhesive, wrap it to the front of the piece. Then adhere to the other side. Make a “U” turn and go back to the front, leave the excess in the front and adhere the other end of the Linen Thread to the other side. Adhere it over the blue piece so the sides match.

5- Trim down the leftover scrap of Forget-Me-Not pattern to 2 ½” x 3”. Add it to the top of the 2 3/8” x 4” piece with dimensionals. With the excess space at the bottom.

6- Stamp your greeting at the bottom with Pretty Peacock ink.

7- Add everything to the center with a dimensional. Make sure to bring all the excess Linen to one side.

8- Cut the Linen Thread evenly and tie a bow.

All Done!

Card #2

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Front Orchid Oasis Cardbase – Kit

Vellum – Kit

1- Cut the Orchid Oasis to 4” x 5 ¼”

2- Lay the Vellum at the bottom and stamp both Lotus flowers in Orchid Oasis above the Vellum. Add the stem to some if you want.

3- Mix some White Craft Ink with a little water and splatter it across the Orchid Oasis paper. Let dry. This will take some time. Once it is dry add it to the cardbase with dimensionals.

4- Use an Embossing Buddy in the bottom right corner of the Vellum and stamp the greeting in the bottom right corner. Add White Embossing Powder and heat.

5- Add this to the bottom of the Orchid Oasis piece with a glue dots in the corners.

6- Stamp the large Lotus Flower on Basic White Cardstock in Orchid Oasis. Color in with Gorgeous Grape and Rich Razzleberry Watercolor Pencils. Add a little Yellow to the center. If you want you can blend the colors with a Blender Pen.

7- Add some highlights back into the flower with a Water Painter and White Craft Ink. Fussy cut out and add to the card with dimensionals near the top left of the Vellum piece.

8- Add three Clear Enamel Dots.

All Done!
