Handmade Card Technique Partial Border Die Cutting to Create Beautiful Edges | Forever Blossom Stamp

This gorgeous handmade card has a fun new technique I haven’t shared on my YouTube channel before. It is called Partial Die Cutting to create an open border card. I have used the beautiful Forever Blossom Stamp Set and it’s coordinating dies Cherry Blossom Dies to create this card, but you can do it with so many other Stampin’ Up Stamp Sets and Dies. You will also need a die cutting machine like the Big Shot. I also used the Watercolor Pencils and the Stampin’ Blend Color Lifter Marker to give the images a soft coloring effect. I hope you enjoy this video and try these techniques on your next card.

- Begin by stamping the flower image in Memento Black ink on the right of the cardbase. Make sure the stem is touching the bottom of the card and the rest of the image doesn’t go off the card.
- Line up the coordinating die, use tape to keep it from moving.
- Use your ruler and make a 1” mark from the right edge of the card at the top and bottom.
- Place it on your cutting platform. Place the top plate so it is lined up with the 1” marks and only coving the right side of the card. Run through the big shot.
- Carefully remove the tape and die. Line up a ruler with the 1” marks. Use an Exacto Knife and remove the extra cardstock around the die cut. Don’t cut the image!
- Stamp more flowers in Black ink around the top and bottom of the cardbase.
- Color the flowers with the Watercolor Pencils. I used Old Olive for the leaves, and Rich Razzleberry in the center of the flowers and Melon Mambo for the petals.
- Use the Stampin’ Blends Color Lifter Marker and blend the color.
- Add the Vellum to the inside of the card under the open border.
- Stamp a greeting in Black ink and cut with a label from the Painted Label Dies.
- Color 11” of White Crinkled Ribbon with the Pool Party Light Stampin’ Blends Marker add it to the back of the greeting. Add to the card with dimensionals. I placed it a little lower than middle.
- Tint 3 rhinestones with the Pool Party Blend Marker and add them around the greeting.

All done!
