Shape Matching Technique - Great Alternative Card Idea using the June 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Today I begin sharing beautiful Alternate Card Ideas you can make with supplies from the June 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Full of Charm.

The cards in this kit have beautiful floral images mixed with gold accents.  There are so many fun images to play around with and create a lot of alternative cards. The kit makes a total of 9 cards 3 of three different designs with coordinating envelopes.

Today I am sharing another beautiful card that uses the diamond shape as a focal point. I have a great tip for you on how to get a perfect shape that fits inside the negative space created by the gold stripes.

If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and make the original cards visit this playlist -  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNkVAyXFAqFtnLYpeVtfUA6g

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog –
www.creativechelsey.com

I also want to mention the amazing perks you can receive when you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me as your demonstrator. With every Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set & Ink Spot sent, I design a card and mail out my very own card kit to my subscribers so they can make two of my exclusive card design. These cards so fun and show new ways to use stamps & ink. We also meet once each month to make the card together, chat & have fun.

*PLUS I have joined with other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators to design 7-10 more alternative ideas in a PDF Tutorial (includes photos & instructions). My subscribers receive this PDF Tutorial along with an Exclusively Designed Card Kit, all for FREE! Berry Burst Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Fresh Freesia Cardstock – scraps

Basic White Cardstock - scraps

Gold Foil Intersecting Stripes Cardbase – kit

Mossy Meadow Branch Die Cut – kit

Circle Label – kit

1- Trim 1/8” around all edges of the Gold Foil Intersecting Lines Cardbase. This will keep the diamond shape in the center.

2- Splatter Berry Burst ink. This will help hide the holes created in the next step.

3- Place some Fresh Freesia Cardstock behind the center diamond shape. I will hold it up to some light to make sure it is fully covering the center. Place it on something soft but firm, like the Pierce Mat and use the pointy end of your Take Your Pick Tool to punch a small hole at four corners of the center diamond shape.

4- On the Fresh Freesia piece, use these holes at each corner as guides to cut a diamond shape with your Paper Trimmer. Add it to the diamond space on the Gold Foil Piece. Then adhere to the center of the cardbase.

5- Stamp your greeting in Blackberry Bliss ink in the center of the Circle Label. Add to the center of the Diamond with dimensionals.

6- Stamp the Branch with Flowers image in Berry Burst ink, twice on Basic White Cardstock. Stamp the Large Leaf image in Mossy Meadow, four times. Fussy cut all out.

7- Adhere the Stamped images behind the Fresh Freesia Diamond.

8- Separate the Mossy Meadow Branch Die Cut into smaller sections and adhere them under the Fresh Freesia Diamond.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step.

Mossy Meadow Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Textured Gold Foil Cardbase – kit

Small Soild Floral & Leaves from the Large Floral Die Cut – kit

Pretty Peacock Cardstock – 1 ¼” x 1 ½”

1- Cut the leftover Textured Gold Foil Cardstock from the kit at 4” x 5 ¼” and distress the edges.

2- Stamp the Branch with Leaves images in Mossy Meadow ink to the right of center. I stamped twice with the bottom of the branches meeting together. This is where I will place the greeting. Add to the center of the cardbase.

3- Create a faux double bow with Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine in the center of the stamped images. I didn’t cut it off the roll, instead I just started with about 2” as one tail and wrapped it back and forth.

4- Heat emboss your greeting in White on the Pretty in Peacock piece. To get the best result use an Embossing Buddy first over the whole piece, stamp in VersaMark ink, add White Embossing Powder and remove excess. Hold the cardstock with Tweezers and Heat from underneath until shiny. Remove the excess Embossing Buddy powder left on the cardstock with a microfiber towel. Distress the edges and add with dimensionals over the center of the faux bow.

5- Look over the Solid Leaves & Flowers that were removed from the Larger Die Cut (alternative #1). Make sure the edges are smooth. Some under the greeting & bow add others to the top left & bottom right areas with dimensionals.

6- Add 3 Vanilla Swirl Dots.

All Done!

Petal Pink Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Textured Gold Foil Cardbase – kit

Large Floral Die Cut – kit

Pretty Peacock Cardstock – 1” x 4”

Basic White Cardstock – 1 ¼” x 1 ½”

Gold Sequins – kit

Pencil with eraser

1- Cut the Textured Gold Foil Cardstock from the kit at 4” to remove one side from the whole. Rotate and cut again at 4 ¼”.

2- Trim the solid leaves and small flowers from the Large Floral Die Cut leaving only the open flowers and leaves. When trimming try to keep the same thickness around the open images.

3- Lay the Large Floral Die Cut with the white side up on the 4” x 4 ¼” Textured Gold Foil piece and lightly trace the outside edges of each flower and leaf so you can see the shapes while you are adding color.

4- Remove the Large Floral Die Cut and add color to each shape with your choice of ink and blending brushes. I used Daffodil Delight, Timid Tiger & Berry Burst for the flowers & Mossy Meadow with a touch of Pretty Peacock. Add as much color as you want to get a good contract between the color and white from the die cut.

5- Adhere the Large Floral Die Cut back over the blended area with glue dots.

6- Add the Small 4” x 1 ¼” Textured Gold Foil piece to the bottom of the cardbase with an even border on Left, Bottom & Right sides.

7- Cut a decorative edge with any die cut in Pretty Peacock Cardstock (or you can tear the cardstock to get a rough edge). Adhere to the bottom edge of the 4” x 4 ¼” piece. Add the floral blended piece to the top of the cardbase, keeping the same border all the way around.

8- Stamp your greeting in Pretty Peacock on the Basic White piece and trim the bottom into a flag shape. Add to the right edge with dimensionals.

9- Add 3 Gold Sequins.

All Done!
