Fun Coloring Techniques - Glimmer Paper - Stampin' Up Paper Pumpkin Alternative Ideas - June 2024

Hi Everyone and welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Today I am sharing with you my third alternative card using the June 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Life Is Sweet.

The kit creates a total of 9 greeting card 3 in three different designs. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create these cards or see any of my other alternatives cards click on the playlist below.

This card is quick and simple and has some fun coloring techniques. I will be show how to create your own pattern paper with the Stampin’ Ink Spot that came in the kit and color Glimmer Paper to get the text to POP!

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog – www.creativechelsey.com

Petal Pink Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Peach Pie Cardbase – kit

Blue Cardbase (scraps) – kit

Shy Shamrock Envelope (back) – kit

Peach Die Cut (leaf on the left) – kit

Small Lemon Die Cut (leaf on the right) – kit

Small/Short Cherries Die Cut – kit

Shy Shamrock Stampin’ Spot

Shaded Spruce Ink Pad

Blending Brush

Basic Black Stampin’ Blend Markers

Pearls – kit

1- Cut the Peach Pie Cardbase in half along the score line. Add it to the front of the Petal Pink cardbase.

2- Trim the Shy Shamrock Back Envelope piece to 3 ¼” x 3 ¾”. With the longer edge at the top. Take the Shy Shamrock Stampin’ Spot and drag across the paper creating stripes.

3- Trim the Blue Cardbase to 3 ½” x 3 ½”. Add it to the center of the Shy Shamrock piece so a little is showing on the right and left sides.

4- Darken the leaves of the Cherries with a Blending Brush and a Green Color – I used Shaded Spruce, but you could also use Shy Shamrock ink. This will help it pop away from the Blue Background.

5- Add dimensionals behind all the fruit die cuts. Add the Peach first at the top on the left side. Then place the Lemon at an angle. And last the Cherries at the bottom.

6- With some scratch paper underneath, color directly on to the Glimmer Paper Greeting (miss you) with an Alcohol Marker (I used the Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blends). Let dry. Add to the right side of the fruit with dimensionals.

7- Add everything to the cardbase with dimensionals. Add 3-5 Pearls from the kit.

I have also created a video walking you through each step.
