Today is another tutorial for the Global Stampin’ Video Hop on YouTube. Each month on the fourth Friday Stampin’ Up Demonstrators from around the world come together and share their projects based on a monthly theme. March’s Theme is STYLISH CARDMAKING IDEAS. Today I am sharing this modern card using the Hello Beautiful Stamp Set. The simple background created with the Hello Beautiful Stamp Set is the perfect background for this fun reverse eclipse card. I used one of the fern dies from the Tropical Layers Dies and I love how the shapes work together. I hope these cards inspire you to create something simple and beautiful today.

Make sure to check out what everyone makes for this monthly Video Hop. You can start with my video, I have linked it below. You can find the next video at the top of the video’s description on YouTube. Have fun!

1- Begin by stamping the larger oval images across the Basic White piece. I used a reverse rainbow pattern, but you could do this in any color combination you want. Stamp inside the shapes with your choice of small pattern stamps and the matching ink color.

If you have adhesive sheets add them to the back before cutting.

2- Cut out shapes with your choice of dies. Keep them to the center of the cardstock. You don’t want them to cut any of the edges. Make sure to keep all the little pieces.

3- Use washi tape and create a hinge to hold the “background” piece in place as you adhere the main die cut pieces to the black cardstock. If you don’t have adhesive sheets use a sponge to add liquid glue to the back of the die cuts.

Carefully lift up the “background” piece. You could use your Take A Pick Tool to help the delicate parts.

4- Cut the clear envelope down to fit behind the open areas. Adhere the clear sheet over the holes. Make sure that any small or delicate pieces get adhesive.

5- Fold the “background” piece over the black cardstock again and make sure everything is lining up. Add any of the smaller pieces inside any “black” areas on the clear sheet. Use liquid adhesive to glue down if not using adhesive sheets.

6- Lift the “background” piece up again and add mini dimensionals all around the opening to provide as much support as you can. Remove the paper backing and slowing adhere to the black cardstock. Everything should line up. Remove the washi tape hinge.

7- Wrap 20” of Black Twine around the bottom and tie a bow on the right side. Then adhere everything to the cardbase.

8- Stamp a greeting and cut it out with a coordinating die. I used the small oval die from the Beautiful Shapes Dies.  Add over the bow with dimensionals.

All Done!

Two Amazing Wedding Cards with Stampin' Up Love & Happiness Bundle -Plus Tips & Tricks for Embossing

Hello my crafting friends,

Today I would like to share with you these two beautiful wedding cards I created for Stampin’ Up!’s Artisan Design Team Showcase in January 2022. I was asked to use the Love & Happiness Bundle in the new January – June 2022 Mini Catalog. These cards use both heat embossing and embossing folder to give texture and interest to them. I share a lot of tips & tricks in the video so make sure to watch.

I love how this first card plays on the white of a wedding dress to the black of the a tuxedo. This is such a classic color combination for a wedding.

This second card uses gold leafing to add another layer to texture to the embossed heart. How can you not love that extra touch of gold – yummy!

Stamparatus 146276 $49.00

Small Grid Paper 149621 $6.50

Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine 149653 $120.00

Card #1

1- To create the repeated text “Happy Wedding Day” on the Basic White Cardstock. Use your Stamparatus & Grid Paper. Place your text around the 1” horizontal mark from the top of the Stamparatus and between the 4” & 7” vertical marks. Mark sure it is straight.

Line up the Basic White 4 ¼” x 5 ½” piece to the far left 7” vertical mark and at the top of the grid paper. Use magnets to hold in place.

2- Use an embossing buddy or dryer sheet to remove any static. Stamp your text in VersaMark ink. Then remove the clear plate and reattach 1” lower. Ink and stamp. Repeat moving the plate down the hinge. Add white embossing powder and heat with a heat tool.

3- Use a dryer sheet or embossing buddy to remove any static that was built up with the heat tool. You may want to also add it to the back of the cardstock. Place the paper back into the Stamparatus in the same place along the 7” vertical mark. Move the top edge down ¼” so you will be stamping the text just above your first set. Add the magnets to hold in place. Ink and stamp all the way down the cardstock, apply embossing powder & heat.

4- Continue this process until the cardstock is filled with text. You will line up the top edge ¼” down each time, so ½” & ¾”.

5- Cut the cardstock down to just outside the text at about 2 ¼” and trim the top & bottom edges to be 5 ¼”.

6- To create a decorative edge to the vellum do a partial die cutting technique. Begin by lining up the small label die with the bottom & side edges of the vellum. Use washi tape to hold in place. When running it through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine the top plate should only cover the area you want to cut, so the bottom half. Repeat for the top edge.

7- Add the black and white DSP to the front of the cardbase with ¼” space on the top & right edge. Add the white embossed piece opposite so there is ¼” space along the left & bottom edge. Add the vellum to the center of the card.

8- Cut out a gold & white large heart from the DSP. Make sure the pattern you choose is symmetrical in the heart. Add to the left of the vellum with dimensionals.

9- Apply embossing buddy or a dry sheet over the Basic Black ½” strip. Stamp your greeting in VersaMark and add white embossing powder, heat until shinny. Add this to the center of the card over the bottom of the heart with dimensionals on the ends.

10- Cut out two small flowers in each size from Gold Foil Sheets. Use the stylus tip from the Take A Pick Tool to curl the petals. Layer them and add them to the card.

11- Place a medium sized Gilded Gem in the center of each flower and a couple small gems around the card.

All Done!

Card #2

1- Add the large heart die to the center of the Bouquet of Love Embossing Folder. Add the 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” Basic White Cardstock to the center of the folder. Use a ruler to make sure it is centered. Run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

2- Add outside piece to the cardbase with liquid glue.

3- Cut a large 3” scallop circle from Basic Black Cardstock & a large 3” circle from Smoky Slate Cardstock and layer them. Adhere them to the center of the card over the heart shape opening.

4- LIGHTLY apply liquid glue over the raised areas of the heart shape with a sponge dauber. Let dry – it will still be tacky. You can clean your sponge dauber with a little water, make sure to dry the sponge by pressing on a towel.

5- Apply Gilded Leafing over the top of the heart. Use a sponge or brush to remove the pieces that don’t stick. Each time you do this it will be different depending on how much glue is applied.

6- Add the heart to the center of the circle with dimensionals.

7- Apply embossing buddy or a dry sheet over the Basic Black ½” strip. Stamp your greeting in VersaMark and add white embossing powder, heat until shinny. Add this to the right of the heart with a dimensional for support.

8- Place 3 Gilded Gems around the card.

All Done!

Three Fun & Easy Handmade Card Techniques To Try with Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

Hello my crafting friends,

Today I would like to share with you three fun techniques you can try with the Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set. I created these cards for Stampin’ Up! to share on their Facebook & Instagram Accounts. Each card shows a different technique.

The first is to create a watercolor background, then stamp the image on top. This gives the silhouette a softer look and can add some fun colors to the open area.

The second tip is to stamp the image and then draw an outline around the open area. This gives a more whimsical look to the image. I love how the drawn line doesn’t need to be perfect and gives the image a whole different look.

The third is to use a emboss resist technique to color inside the open space with Stampin’ Write Markers. Make sure to check out the step by step instructions or video below.

Card #1 – Watercolor

1- Start by adding ink to a clear block. You can do this with an ink pad or Stampin’ Write Marker. Spritz it will a little water with a Stampin’ Spritzer and press down on to your cardstock. Repeat with another color until your desired effect is achieved, let dry. I used Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, and Polished Pink Stampin’ Write Markers.

2- Stamp your image on top once it has dried. I used Misty Moonlight. Cut out with a 2” circle from the Layering Circles Dies.

3- Emboss your 4” x 5 ¼” Basic White piece with the Stitched Greenery Die. Add the two Misty Moonlight stitched rectangles across to create a long rectangle. They can overlap in the center or you can cut them down.

4- Wrap with 20” of Twine and tie a bow on the right side. Add this to the cardbase.

5- Add the main image in the center with dimensionals.

6- Stamp your greeting on a ½” strip and trim the edges to create a banner. Add to the card with dimensionals at the bottom of the main image.

7- Add three embellishments.

Card #2 – Adding a Line Drawing over the image.

1- Stamp the image on to a light color cardstock cut with a stitched rectangle die. I used Garden Green ink on Soft Sea Foam Cardstock.

2- Then traced the image with a darker Stampin’ Write Maker, I used Misty Moonlight. You don’t need to perfectly trace the image.

3- Emboss your 4” x 5 ¼” Basic White piece with the Stitched Greenery Die. Add it to the cardbase.

4- Wrap 20” of twine around the bottom of the stamped image and tie a bow on the right side. Add to the center of the cardbase with dimensionals.

5- Stamp your greeting on ½” strip and cut the words up. Add above the bow with dimensionals.

6- Add three embellishments.

Card #3 – Emboss Resist

1- Stamp the image with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on Basic White Cardstock.

2- Then added color to the open area inside the stamp with Stampin’ Write Markers. I began with the lightest color Misty Moonlight at the top and worked down to the darkest, Just Jade, Garden Green, then Evening Evergreen. Take a soft, lightly damp cloth and wipe off the ink from the white embossed area. Then fussy cut out.

3- Emboss your 4” x 5 ¼” Basic White piece with the Stitched Greenery Die. Add it to the cardbase.

4- On the Just Jade Stitched Rectangles, stamp the image a couple times to create a subtle texture. Add to the center of the cardbase.

5- Add the embossed image to the center with dimensionals.

6- Stamp your greeting on Basic White cardstock and cut out a banner shape on the right side. Add over the trunk with dimensionals.

7- With 10” of twine create a bow and adhere it with glue dots in the top left corner of the greeting. Add three embellishments.
