October 2020 Paper Pumpkin (Joy to the World) Simple 2 for 1 Alternative Handmade Cards | Stampin Up

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today is my first alternative project using the October 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Joy to the World. This kit comes with a beautiful stamp set and flower die cuts and I wanted these to be the star of the card! Plus turning one card into two stretches the supplies so I can get more from one kit.

I love creating alternative cards with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more videos as I continue to create with this month’s kit. I would love to see your finished creations that are inspired by this tutorial! You can tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at

It is Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. This is the first tutorial this week. If you missed some check out the playlist here:

Take Your Pick Tool 144107 $10.00

Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine 149653 $120.00

1- Trim your cardbase into 2 card fronts (4 1/8” x 5 3/8”) Start by removing ½” from the top of the cardbase. Then trim in half at 4 1/8”

2- Trim the edges of an envelope. Then when open trim the pattern into 2 pieces (2 ¾” x 4 ¼”).

3- On the solid card front stamp the flower image 2 times along the left edge and 1 time on the right in VersaMark ink. Apply Gold Embossing Powder and heat with Heat Tool until shinny.

4- Add the card fronts to the cardbases. Add the Cherry Cobbler pattern piece to the bottom right corner with about ½” gap on the right and bottom.

5- Stamp your greeting on to the large label from the kit or the 1” x 4” strip (you can flag the ends of the strip to create a banner shape). I used Just Jade ink from the kit for the main sentiment and Early Espresso for the smaller greeting. Add this to your card centered over the Cherry Cobbler pattern piece with dimensionals.

6- On each flower die-cut, use paper snips to separate the large flower from the smaller one.

7- Slide the cut ends under the greeting on the top and bottom. I like to use a strong adhesive under the greeting and place a dimensional on the opposite side to give dimension to this element. Add three Wonderful Gems or other embellishment to your card.

All Done!
