The project this month are cute Stockings
with Tags that you can fill and give away to friends and family. I love the
retro designs and colors in the kit. If you would like to watch me unbox the
kit and create these cards click on the playlist click on this link - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNm7mGU8P-yloiVvTU-OKpg0
If you are not into making the stockings
this month and would like some card ideas instead you are in the right place.
This is the first alternative card idea I will be sharing with you this week. This card has some really fun techniques you don’t want to miss. I will be showing you how emboss with your paper trimmer, create a ruffled edge with fabric from the stockings & color Baker’s Twine any color to match your project.
Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog – www.creativechelsey.com

Basic Beige Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Shaded Spruce Cardstock – 3 ¼” x 4 ½”
Basic White Cardstock – 5/8” x 1 ¾”
Pink Tag – kit
Red Stripe Fabric – kit – 1 ¾” x 3”
One Ornament – kit
Gold Topper – kit
Crumb Cake Baker’s Twine – (2) 10”
1- Add a simple embossed detail with your Scoring Tool on your Paper Trimmer at 1/4”, 1/8” 1/8” then repeat. Here are the exact measurements: with the 3 ¼” side at the top of your paper trimmer, line up the left side at these measurements and score.
3” | 2-1/2” | 2” | 1-1/2” | 1” | 1/2" |
2-7/8” | 2-3/8” | 1-7/8” | 1-3/8” | 7/8” | 3/8” |
2-3/4” | 2-1/4” | 1-3/4” | 1-1/4” | 3/4" | 1/4" |
2- Splatter the Shaded Spruce piece with a small paint brush – the water painters are perfect for this, mix with a couple drops of White Craft Ink & water. Let dry. Then add to the center of the cardbase with dimensionals.
3- Reinforce the small circle inside the tag hole with tape on the back of the Pink Tag. Stamp the Starburst image randomly in Poppy Parade ink on the front. Add Tear & Tape along the back left edge.
4- Cut the Red Stripe Fabric (1 ¾” x 3”) piece into ½” x 3” sections you will get two & a smaller piece leftover. Starting at the top of the Tear & Tape adhere a small section of the Fabric with about ¼” showing. Fold back on itself, place your Take & Pick tool over the fold, then bring the fabric forward again and adhere the next section to the tape. Repeat about halfway down to create a ruffled look. Start the second piece where the first one ends to finish the ruffle along the left side.
5- To hold everything in place add another strip of Tear & Tape over the Fabric Ruffle. This will also adhere this side to the Cardbase. To support the other side, add Dimensionals along the right edge. Add to the center of the Cardbase/Shaded Spruce piece.
6- Stamp your choice of design inside the Vanilla space on the Ornament in Poppy Parade, I used the small starburst & dots line. Add the Gold Topper to the top with a glue dot. Then place on the right side of the Pink Tag with dimensionals.
7- Stamp your greeting on the 5/8” Basic White Strip in
Poppy Parade. Trim down to fit & flag the ends. Add to the bottom left area
with dimensionals.
8- Color one Crumb Cake Twine with a Dark Red Stampin’ Blend Marker, I used Poppy Parade. Make sure to remove any excess ink & let dry.
9- Create a faux bow with bow piece of twine and tuck under the greeting, on top of the fabric ruffle.
All Done!
I have also created a video walking you through each step.
