Color On The Fabric & A Tip To Making It Pop - Alternative Card Idea November 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Over the past couple days, I have shared some great card ideas you can make with one stocking from this month’s kit. Today I am sharing with you my fourth alternative idea using the November 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Filled With Joy.

The project this month are cute Stockings with Tags that you can fill and give away to friends and family. I love the retro designs and colors in the kit. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create these cards click on the playlist click on this link - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNm7mGU8P-yloiVvTU-OKpg0

If you are not into making the stockings this month and would like some card ideas instead you are in the right place.

For today’s card I will be sharing how you can color on the fabric to create your own pattern and bring in different colors.

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog – www.creativechelsey.com

I also want to mention the amazing perks you can receive when you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me as your demonstrator. With every Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set & Ink Spot sent, I design a card and mail out my very own card kit to my subscribers so they can make two of my exclusive card design. These cards so fun and show new ways to use stamps & ink. We also meet once each month to make the card together, chat & have fun. *PLUS I have joined with other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators to design 8-10 more alternative ideas in a PDF Tutorial (includes photos & instructions). My subscribers receive this PDF Tutorial along with an Exclusively Designed Card Kit, all for FREE! If you would also like to receive this extra perk, sign up for paper pumpkin using the link below and make sure to select me as your demonstrator.

1- Splatter the Balmy Blue Cardbase with Balmy Blue ink. I like to use Stampin’ Write Markers. Then Stamp the Starburst image in Balmy Blue in the top right & bottom left corners.

2- Cut the Solid Cream Fabric into a large rectangle about 2 ½” x 4 ½” or as big as you can. Make sure you have added Adhesive Sheets to the back. With the Balmy Blue Stampin’ Write Marker draw horizontal lines across the fabric. You can space them as close as you want.

3- To make the blue lines pop, also added a small white line at the top of each blue line with my White Gel Pen. This is very subtle, but I think it helps a lot.

4- Cut the bottom of the Fabric piece into a banner shape, then remove the paper backing from the Adhesive Sheet and place in the center of the cardbase. You can wrinkle the corners if you want.

5- Stamp your greeting in VersaMark on Melon Mambo Strip, about ½” from the left. Make sure to add Embossing Powder first, add White Embossing Powder, remove excess and Heat until shiny. Adhere with dimensionals just below the center of the cardbase.

6- Add a Gold Topper to one Large Ornament with a glue dot. Then add dimensionals at the top and bottom and adhere it over the right side of the Melon Mambo Strip.

7- Stamp the Mini Ornaments in three coordinating colors, I used Melon Mambo, Shaded Spruce & Balmy Blue. Fussy cut out one Mini Ornament from each color, making sure to do one of each design. Add a strip of Gold Foil 1/8” to the top of each ornament, cut the length to fit. Then add to the cardbase with a glue dot, I placed two above the Strip & one below.

8- Take a glue dot (you can cut it in half if you want less adhesive) add it to the end of some White Baker’s Twine and tuck it under the large ornament at the top. Cut the twine at the top of the cardbase. You may also want to sting it through the opening of the Gold Topper. Then add the other half of the glue dot to the top of the cardbase where the Twine should attach, place the twine on top of the glue dot and then push the extra adhesive under the twine. Repeat for the three smaller ornaments, with one exception, the string for the ornament below the Strip doesn’t need to go to the top of the cardbase, it can stop under the strip. See video below for more details if needed.

9- Add any embellishments you want. I used the White Sequins from the Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins.

All Done!
