Stamp on Fabric from the Stockings in the Kit - November 2024 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card Idea

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. Thanks for joining me today as I continue to share some beautiful card ideas you can make with the November 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Filled With Joy.

The project this month are cute Stockings with Tags that you can fill and give away to friends and family. I love the retro designs and colors in the kit. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create these cards click on the playlist click on this link - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL40dV1oxpkNm7mGU8P-yloiVvTU-OKpg0

If you are not into making the stockings this month and would like some card ideas instead you are in the right place.

This is the third alternative card I will be sharing with you this week. I love the use of non-traditional colors on this card. By pulling in a pop of pink and light blue we can brighten up not only the color scheme, but also someone’s day. Today I will be sharing how you can stamp on the fabric from the stockings and of course a little fussy cutting to mix and match the small ornaments with the paper piecing technique. I hope you love this card as much as I do.

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog –

I also want to mention the amazing perks you can receive when you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me as your demonstrator. With every Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set & Ink Spot sent, I design a card and mail out my very own card kit to my subscribers so they can make two of my exclusive card design. These cards so fun and show new ways to use stamps & ink. We also meet once each month to make the card together, chat & have fun. *PLUS I have joined with other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators to design 8-10 more alternative ideas in a PDF Tutorial (includes photos & instructions). My subscribers receive this PDF Tutorial along with an Exclusively Designed Card Kit, all for FREE! If you would also like to receive this extra perk, sign up for paper pumpkin using the link below and make sure to select me as your demonstrator.

1- Splatter the Flirty Flamingo Cardstock piece with Poppy Parade ink. I like to use Stampin’ Write Markers.

2- Cut the Solid Cream Fabric into a large rectangle about 2 ½” x 4 ½” or larger. Make sure you have added Adhesive Sheets to the back. Randomly stamp the Starburst image in Poppy Parade on the front. Remove the Paper Backing from the Adhesive Sheet and place the fabric along the bottom edge covering about half of the Flirty Flamingo piece. Fold the edges to the back.

3- Cut the Stripe Fabric Piece in half so you have two pieces that are about 1” x 3”. Add a Strip of Tear & Tape to the back of each piece along one long edge. Remove the paper backing and fold the edge down about ¼”. Repeat on the second piece.

4- Add Tear & Tape about 2 ¼” from the top of the Flirty Flamingo piece, it should be just above the Solid Stamped Fabric piece. Adhere the Strip pieces so the folded edge is at the top. You will need to have the two pieces meet in the middle. Fold the edges to the back and adhere in place.

5- Take 4 ½” or larger of the Stitched Edge and adhere with Tear & Tape to the area between the Stripes & Solid Fabric Pieces. I placed it with the folded edge on the top. Fold to the back and adhere.

6- Adhere the Flirty Flamingo Piece to the cardbase with pieces cut from Foam Adhesive Sheets. They are slightly thicker giving more room for the folded Fabric to sit behind the cardstock.

7- Stamp the Mini Ornaments in three coordinating colors, I used Poppy Parade, Shaded Spruce & Flirty Flamingo. Fussy cut out one Mini Ornament from each color, making sure to do one of each design.

8- Stamp the Mini Ornaments in VersaMark at the top of the Pool Party Tag, make sure to add Embossing Powder first, add White Embossing Powder, remove excess and Heat until shiny. Add the color Mini Ornaments on top of the White ones with a glue dot. Add this to the right side of the cardbase with dimensionals at the top and bottom.

9- Add a Large Ornament with dimensionals at the top and bottom to the left of the Tag. Tuck it under the Mini Ornament on the left side. Draw a White Thread from the top of the Ornament to the top of the Cardstock with a White Gel Pen. Draw a little bow at the top to match the little bows in the stamp.

10- Stamp your greeting in VersaMark on Poppy Parade Cardstock, make sure to add Embossing Powder first, add White Embossing Powder, remove excess and Heat until shiny. Trim down to fit. Then adhere with dimensionals under the Mini Ornaments.

All Done!

I have also created a video walking you through each step.
