For today’s alternatives I have a This or That Challenge for you. I have two cards I created using the same pieces of size, pattern, and Die Cuts. And only changing the layout. Which one do you like the best? You can also create your own layout using the same pieces. I would love to see what you create.
The projects from this kit are beautiful with colorful leaf designs perfect for this time of year. The kit creates a total of 9 greeting cards 3 in three different designs. Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store.

To make both cards you will need:
2 Crumb Cake Cardbases 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Copper Foil Sheet - Scrap
Wood Cardbase – (2) 2 ¾” x 4”
Cajun Craze Envelope – (2) 2 ¾” x 4” Front (2) 1 ½” x 1 ½”
(2) Large Oak Leaf Die Cut – Kit
Copper Leaf Die Cut – Kit
Linen Thread – (2) 10”
Early Espresso Marker
Making the pieces for the cards:
1- Cut the Wood Piece in half at 2 ¾” to get Two 2 ¾” x 4” pieces.
2- Separate the Cajun Craze Envelope by removing the folded edges. Cut the Cajun Craze piece to 4” x 5 ½”, then in half again at 2 ¾” x 4”. Stamp a fun pattern on both pieces using your choice of stamps in Cajun Craze ink.
3- Cut from the Vanilla back piece of the Envelope a 1 ½” strip. Then cut two 1 ½” pieces. Stamp your greeting on both and flag the bottoms to create banners.
4- Splatter Early Espresso ink on the front of each cardbase.
5- Die 20” of Linen Thread with Cajun Craze Ink by taking a clear block and smooshing the Thread between the clear block and ink pad and pulling the thread through. Rotate the Thread to color the other side. Use a Paper Towel and hold the other end and repeat to color the full thread.
Card A:
1- Adhere the Cajun Craze piece at an angle in the top right
area of the cardbase. Add one of the Wood Pattern piece to the bottom left area
with dimensionals.
2- Add one of the Large Oak Leaf Die Cuts over the bottom right area with dimensionals.
3- Add the greeting over both pieces with dimensionals in
the bottom right area.
4- Add a Copper Foil Leaf by the greeting.
5- Tie a Bow with 10” of Linen Thread and add to the top
left corner of the greeting.
Card B:
1- Adhere the Cajun Craze piece at horizontally in the
center of the cardbase. Add the Wood Pattern piece vertically to the right side.
2- Add one of the Large Oak Leaf Die Cuts angled into the wood piece with dimensionals.
3- Add the greeting over both pieces with dimensionals in
the top left area.
4- Add a Copper Foil Leaf by the greeting.
5- Tie a Bow with 10” of Linen Thread and add to the top right
corner of the greeting.
I have also created a video walking you through each step.
