Make 3 Alternative Cards From 1 Cardbase using the March 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Memorable Meadows

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. This week I am sharing with you some great card ideas you can make with one set of supplies from the March 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Memorable Meadows. The projects from this kit are really beautiful with impressionistic landscapes to make me ready for summer. The kit creates a total of 9 greeting card 3 in three different designs. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create these cards or see any of my other alternatives click on my YouTube playlist -

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog – www.creativechelsey.com

For today’s alternatives I created three cards with one cardbase.  The layouts are fun and easy to replicate with any pattern paper.

Cutting the Cardbase
(01:20)

Card #1- Open the cardbase and from the right edge (with the full tree) cut at 3 ¾”. Rotate this smaller piece and trim off ½” from the top to make the final size 3 ¾” x 5”.

Card #2- From the left edge (open field) cut at 2-7/8”. Rotate this piece and trim off the sky at 1-3/8”. The final size should be 2-7/8” x 4-1/8”.

With the top of this piece at the top of your paper trimmer cut in half vertically at 1-7/16”.

On the right piece, rotate to cut 1-7/16” from the sky area.

On the left piece, rotate to cut 1-7/16” from the grass area.

Card #3- Use the leftover middle piece, final size 1-7/8” x 5 ½”

Remove the curved flap from the pattern envelope piece leftover from my 1st set of Alternative Cards. Trim the height down to 5 ½”. From the width cut a ¾” strip, the other piece should be about 2 ¼”.

Card #1
(05:32)

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Landscape Cardbase (kit) – cut from the right side 3 ¾” x 5”

Soft Sea Foam Cardstock – 3 ¾” x 5”

Banner (kit)

1- Layer the Soft Sea Foam piece at an angle behind the Cardbase pattern (large tree). Add this to the cardbase with dimensionals.

2- With Garden Green ink, only ink up “Beautiful”, you can use washi tape to cover the other words before adding ink to the stamp, but make sure to remove the washi tape before stamping.

Stamp on the Banner piece from the kit close to the gold edge.

3- Trim off the excess from the right side. Add at the base of the large tree with dimensionals so the right edge is in line with the cardbase.

4- Clean your stamp. Ink up “Have A” with Garden Green ink and stamp in the excess area. Clean and repeat with “Day” (from Birthday).

5- Fussy cut and add with dimensionals above and below “Beautiful”.

6- Add embellishments if you want.

Card #2
(10:30)

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Landscape Cardbase (kit) – cut from the left side 2-7/8” x 4-1/8”

Basic White Cardstock – 3 ¼” x 4 ½” & scrap for greeting

Twine – 12”

1- Layout the cut cardbase pieces evenly on the 3 ¼” x 4 ½” Basic White piece. Once you have even spaces around and between, add with adhesive.

2- Add dimensionals to the back and place in the center of the cardbase.

3- Ink “Thanks” with Garden Green and stamp on a scrap piece of Basic White. Cut down and add to the top left corner with dimensionals.

4- Tie a box with 12” of twine, you can use what you have. Tuck it under the bottom right corner of the greeting with a glue dot.

Card #3
(15:02)

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Landscape Cardbase (kit) – 1-7/8” x 5 ½”

Basic White Cardstock – scrap for greeting

Petal Pink – ¾” x 5 ½”

Purple Vellum – medium size

Wooden Laser Cut Tree (kit)

Envelope Leftover piece (kit)

1- Add the ¾” Envelope strip to the left side of the cardbase. Add the larger piece to the right side.

2- Layer the Petal Pink strip behind the pattern piece on the right side.

3- Cut the Vellum piece in half the long way. Tear one edge of each piece.

4- Add the Vellum behind the Petal Pink strip with the torn edge showing. The pieces will meeting the middle. Trim off any excess.

5- Wrap 12” of Twine around this piece and tie a knot or bow on the right side. I used 3 strands of Natural Twine I removed from the Natural Wavy Twine twisted together. Place it at the base of the tree.

6- Add this piece over the gap with dimensionals.

7- Adhere the Wooden Laser Cut Tree with glue dots or liquid adhesive to the right of the strip. Tuck it under the twine.

8- Stamp “Thanks” in Garden Green ink and fussy cut out. Add the greeting to the left of the Tree with dimensionals.

I have also created a video walking you through each step, you can find the times I start each card above:
