Fun Techniques With The Wood Laser Cuts Shapes - March 2024 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Cards

Hi Everyone and welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. This week I have shared card ideas you can make with one set of supplies from the March 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Memorable Meadows. This the last set of cards.

The projects from this kit are really beautiful with impressionistic landscapes to make me ready for summer. The kit creates a total of 9 greeting card 3 in three different designs. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create these cards or see any of my other alternatives click on my YouTube playlist -

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below or on my blog – www.creativechelsey.com

For today’s alternatives I created two cards with the last pieces.
These cards use fun techniques with the wood laser cut shapes to make beautiful handmade cards.

Card #1
(01:15)

Soft Sea Foam Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Garden Green Cardstock – 3” x 4”

Basic White Cardstock – 3 ½” x 3 ½”

Rounded Banner (kit)

Wood Laser Cut Leaf (kit)

Leftover Wood Laser Cut Stencil (kit)

Twine – 12”

1- With a small paintbrush mix some water with Garden Green ink. Add the Wood Stencil over the Basic White Cardstock and paint the inside of the matching Leaf Shape. Don’t use too much water as that will make it bleed outside of the shape. Repeat the same shape randomly over the whole cardstock. Let dry.

2- Once dry you can splatter more ink if you want.

3- Layer the Garden Green piece in the center of the cardbase.

4- Add the Watercolor Piece in the center with dimensionals.

5- Stamp your greeting in Garden Green ink on the Rounded Banner and add to the top right area with dimensionals.

6- Tuck the Wood Laser Cut Leaf under the greeting on the left side. I used Liquid Adhesive to adhere it in place.

7- Tie a bow with 12” of twine and add it where the Label and Leaf connect.

Card #2
(06:20)

Petal Pink Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Petal Pink Cardstock – 4” x 5 ¼” & 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”

Sky Leftover Piece (kit) – 1 3/8” x 2 7/8”

Purple Vellum (kit) – large piece

Basic White Cardstock – scrap for greeting

Wooden Die Cut Leaf (kit)

1- Emboss the 4” x 5 ¼” Petal Pink piece with your choice of Embossing Folder, I used the Crosshatch pattern from the Basics 3D Pack. Add to the center of the cardbase.

2- Cut the Vellum piece in half, add each half to the sides of the embossed piece about 1 ¼” from the top. When the gap is covered it should look like one piece.

3- Add the Sky Leftover piece to the bottom of the square Petal Pink piece with about 1/8” showing. Add this over the gap with dimensionals.
4- Add Berry Burst Ink over the front of the Wooden Laser Cut Leaf with a Blending Brush. Add to the center of the card with liquid adhesive.

5- Stamp your greeting on Basic White Cardstock in Garden Green ink, cut down. Add to the bottom of the Wooden Leaf with dimensionals on the sides.

I have also created a video walking you through each step, you can find the times I start each card above:
