March 2024 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives - Tips & Techniques That Make Your Cards Stand Out!

Hi Everyone and welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here on Creative Chelsey. This week I am sharing with you some great card ideas you can make with one set of supplies from the March 2024 Paper Pumpkin Kit called Memorable Meadows. The projects from this kit are really beautiful with impressionistic landscapes to make me ready for summer. The kit creates a total of 9 greeting card 3 in three different designs. If you would like to watch me unbox the kit and create these cards or see any of my other alternatives click on my YouTube playlist -

Each month I take the contents from the paper pumpkin kits and make alternative projects. My cards are easy to follow and can be made by both experienced or new paper crafter. You may need just a couple other products to complete them. You can follow along with me using supplies you already have or purchase any products you see me use from my online store. A full supply list is below.

Card #1 (01:25)

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Sky Cardbase (kit) Trees on the Right Side – cut bottom to 4” x 4 ¼”

Fresh Freesia Cardstock – 1 ½” x 4 ¼”

Basic White Cardstock – 1 ½” x 4 ¼” & 1 7/8” x 2”

Balmy Blue Cardstock – 1 ½” x 4 ¼”

1- Cut the cardbase in half at the score line. Remove 1 ½” from the top so your bottom piece is 4” x 4 ¼”. Add to the bottom of the cardbase.

2- Tear each of the 1 ½” x 4 ¼” Fresh Freesia, Basic White, & Balmy Blue strips along the bottom and arrange them at the top so they cover the open space. Trim off any overhang.

3- Stamp the greeting in Garden Green ink on Basic White Cardstock. Trim the bottom to create a flag shape. Add to the left side with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

4- Add sequins or other embellishment if you want.

Card #2 (07:48)

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Sky Cardbase (kit) Trees on the Left Side – cut bottom to 4” x 4 ¼”

Basic White Cardstock – ½” x 3 ¼”

Balmy Blue Cardstock – 4” x 5 ¼”

Twine – 12”

1- Splatter Night of Navy ink over Balmy Blue Cardstock. Add to the center of the cardbase.

2- Cut the other half of the cardbase by removing the top at 1 ½”. Use a Blending Brush to add Night of Navy ink along the edges of the bottom piece. Add this to the left with about ¼” of Balmy Blue showing. Add with dimensionals.

3- Stamp your greeting in Garden Green on the strip and flag on the left. Any where you want with dimensionals.

4- Remove the outside pieces from the Wavy Trim.

Tie a bow with the braided section and add under the greeting.

5- You can add sequins or embellishments if you want.

Card #3 (14:20)

Thick Basic White Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”

Sky Cardbase (kit) Top Pieces – (4) ¾” x 4 ¼”

Basic White Cardstock – 4” x 5 ¼” & scraps for stamping

Label (kit)

White Gel Pen (this is my favorite from amazon)—— https://amzn.to/3Rp9LrZ      (As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases)

1- Emboss the white cardstock with your choice of folder, I used the crosshatch design from the Basic 3D pack.

2- Cut the 1 ½” sky pieces in half to be ¾” x 4 ¼”. Add to the center with dimensionals. TIP: Place them upside down first to get the spacing correct.

3- Stamp your greeting in Garden Green ink on one of the labels from the kit. Add this to the bottom half with dimensionals.

4- Stamp the single flower with stem in Crumb Cake twice, stamp an extra leaf as well.

5- Color with Stampin’ Blend Markers. I used Fresh Freesia for the petals, Shaded Spruce for the leaves, and Daffodil Delight for the center.

6- If you have a White Gel Pen, you can add details in the flower and leaves.

7- Fussy Cut out and add around the greeting with dimensionals.

8- Add any sequins or embellishments if you want.

I have also created a video walking you through each step, you can find the times I start each card above:
