Three Clean Modern Handmade Card Designs Using The Die Cuts From The March 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit

Welcome to Paper Pumpkin Week here at Creative Chelsey. I love getting my Paper Pumpkin Kit every month and creating fun alternative projects using the supplies in the kit. Today I am sharing my second alternative idea using the March 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Beyond The Horizon.

This kit comes with everything you need to make 9 Beautiful Cards, 3 in three different designs. What I like to do is use the supplies in the kit along with some other products and create different or alternative cards. Today I am sharing three simple handmade cards using modern design with the die cuts from the kit. I love creating alternative projects with Paper Pumpkin Kits so make sure to come back for more as I continue to create with this month’s kit.

If this project inspires you to create something, I would love for you to tag me in any social media post using @creativechelsey | #creativechelsey or email me at chelsey@creativechelsey.com

Card #1

1- Create a template from the piece leftover after you remove the die cuts. Use sticky notes to cover up the other openings so you don't get ink in those spaces. Place it upside down on the right side of the 3 ¾” x 5” Basic White piece. I used the yellow branch shape. With a Blending Brush and Misty Moonlight Ink add color. Remove stencil when done.

2- Add more color and texture with the stamps from the kit. I used Pale Papaya with the pattern and Old Olive for a small branch and the greeting.

3- Layer the yellow die cut piece over the blue branch with dimensionals.

4- Add the whole thing to the center of a Thick Basic White Cardbase with dimensionals.

5- Add three embellishments.

Card #2

1- On the 3 ½” x 4 ¾” Basic White piece, create a mountain range using the leftover openings from the die cuts like in Card #1. I used Pale Papaya for the larger mountain and Calypso Coral for the small.

2- To give the pattern stamp a distressed feeling you can use a tissue and remove some of the ink before stamping.

3- Stamp the pattern image with a distressed look randomly around the mountain range. I used Misty Moonlight ink.

4- Add the Mountain die cuts over the blended mountain range with dimensionals. Stamp your greeting on the ½” x 3” strip in Misty Moonlight ink. Add under the mountains with dimensionals.

5- Cut the circle die cut in half and add it in the upper right corner. Cut one point from the Zig-Zag Evening Evergreen border piece and add it over the half circle.

6- Add everything to the center of a Thick Basic White Cardbase with dimensionals. Add three embellishments.

Card #3

1- Place the embossed piece on a scrap from one of the envelopes. I used the Pale Papaya pattern. Use a paper trimmer to trim the edges to create a nice border.

2- Layer the Calypso Coral strip to the left of the 3” x 4 ¼” piece so there is a little border around the top, bottom, and left edge. Add the embossed piece to the right side overlapping the Calypso Coral strip slightly.

3- Adhere the other half of the circle die cut between the embossed piece and the pattern paper.

4- Add the Grass die cuts over the embossed piece. Stamp your greeting in Misty Moonlight on the ½” x 2 ¼” strip. Layer over the elements with dimensionals.

5- Add everything to the center of a Thick Basic White Cardbase with dimensionals. Add three embellishments.

  1. Hello, I love your cards and follow you!
On the third card I think the whisper white should be 4 3/4 not 4 1/4 to fit the calypso coral die cut.
