It is time for another tutorial for the Global Stampin’ Video Hop on YouTube. Each month on the fourth Friday Stampin’ Up Demonstrators from around the world come together and share their projects based on a monthly theme. October’s Theme is – Vellum Techniques. I am so excited to see what everyone creates.
I love Vellum! If you have followed me for a while, you know I use it all the time. Today I am sharing how you can color customize vellum to coordinate with any card. This technique is so versatile and can be used with many different colors, you can even create ombre effects with this technique.
I hope you are inspired today as you see all the fun techniques from everyone while jumping from video to video. If you are inspired to make a project from something you see today please share it with us, we would love to see what you come up with. You can tag me @creativechelsey in any social media post.
Make sure to check out what everyone makes for this monthly Video Hop. You can start with my video, I have linked it below. You can find the next video at the top of the video’s description on YouTube. Have fun!

Product List
Here are the dimensions and pieces you will need to
create this card:
Soft Sea Foam Cardbase – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
Soft Sea Foam Cardstock – 4” x 5 ¼”
Basic White Cardstock – 4 ¼” x 5 ½”
Vellum Cardstock – 4 ½” x 5 ½”
Red Ribbon – 6”
White Twine – 12”
1- Use a Decorative Mask on top of the 4” x 5 ¼” Soft Sea Foam piece. Add ink with a Blending Brush and Shaded Spruce ink to the center, blend out to the edge with light pressure. Remove the mask and add a little ink to the edges of the cardstock with the Blending Brush. Add to the center of the cardbase.
2- Ink the Large Tree from Merriest Trees in Shaded Spruce. Use a tissue to blot some of the ink off the stamp, this will give it a fun texture.
Stamp on White Cardstock using a Pierce Mat to get an even image. Cut out with coordinating die.
3- Add it to the left side of the cardbase with dimensionals.
4- Use the Dark Shaded Spruce Blend Marker and color a section on Vellum Cardstock. Repeat with the Dark Real Red Blend Marker. Cut out one Light Bulb (Merry & Bright Dies) from each color.
5- Cut out the accessories (filament & cap) for each bulb in Silver Glimmer Adhesive Paper.
Put together each Light Bulb with one filament & cap.
The glimmer paper has adhesive, so just remove the paper backing. Make sure to
add them to the colored side of the Vellum.
6- Flip each bulb over and draw glowing lines on the back around the filament. Do not do this on the colored side, it will remove the ink instead of adding to it.
7- Cut out the tag die (Merriest Trees Dies) from Vellum Cardstock. Add the two bulbs to the right side of the tag with dimensionals. Add this to the right side of the card with dimensionals behind the bulbs.
8- Stamp your choice of greeting in Memento Black and fussy cut out. Add your greeting to the center below the light bulbs with dimensionals.
9- String the Red Ribbon through the tag hole and tie together with the White Twine.
10- Add 3-5 Red Festive Pearls.
