Creation Station Blog Hop - Up In The Air

Welcome to the Creation Station Blog Hop, where this month we are creating project with an "Up In The Air" theme.

If you’ve hopped over from the fabulous Mikaela Titheridge over at  https://thecraftyoinkpen.co.uk/2024/05/creation-station-up-in-the-air.html, hello, I am so happy you are here.

If you are just starting this blog hop you can begin here and then click on the next link at the bottom.

I was really excited for this month's theme as I love the Hot Air Balloon Stamp Set & Coordinating Hot Air Balloon Dies.

For this card I wanted to use a simple watercolor wash technique for the sky. I used Azure Afternoon Ink and a Water Painter on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I love how this paper gives the perfect watercolor look every time. I always like to start with clean water first and then add the ink randomly to give it areas of light and dark.

For the sky I also wanted to include some clouds that would fade a little in the background. To achieve this look I added a little ombre blending technique on Basic White Cardstock with Azure Afternoon ink and cut out multiple clouds. Because the blending goes from light to dark I was able to get some clouds with different ombre looks and I love how they each are different and when layered together look great.

To finish the card I added stamped and die cut balloons in Fresh Freesia, Berry Burst, & Bubble Bath. With a couple die cut flags in Lemon Lolly & Daffodil Delight.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my card and being inspired to try creating your own Up In The Air Creation. I would love to see what you come up with. Please tag me in any social media post #creativechelsey

Next up is my talented friend, Barb Pfeffer, https://justbstamping.blogspot.com/2024/05/creation-station-up-in-air-hop.html . I just know she’ll share something incredible, so enjoy!

Have a creative day,

Chelsey
